I see this answer a lot on this forum. "I'm proud of God".

Let's assume He exists. Let's also assume He's an omnipotent Being. He can do anything, without any trouble. He knows everything, without having to think. He hears everything, without having to use ears. He sees everything without having to use eyes.
He can make us believe the unbelievable. He is omnipotent.

How can anybody be proud of God?

I can see how somebody could love God, or respect God, or fear God. But pride? For an omnipotent Being?

Dont' confuse yourself with self pride VS pride of someone else.
God is proud of us when we follow Him. So why can't we be proud of Him and all he has done for us. Self pride i the same thing as bosting and holding yourself above everyone else...

Proverbs 29:23 A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
But to be proud of somone else is not the same thing. There is absolutly nothing wrong with that.

That is an odd thing to say. Usually we are proud of those who have shown improvement.

There is one passage by the Apostle Paul where he says, "But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world" Galatians 6:14

I guess if you interpreted that as "I should not be proud except in the cross...." But I think that's kind of a stretch to make it mean "I'm proud of God."

I take that more as if there is anything in me to be proud of (or boast about) it's the good God has done for me. But then, that wouldn't be pride, it would be humility.

If God is ALL than it means nothing.

You say....
"I can see how somebody could love God, or respect God, or fear God."

Unable to see the above statement.

I think they (the people that say that) are more proud of themselves for believing in the "right" God than they are of God Himself (or Herself, oh, you know what I mean!)
