Go to the doctor!!!! You should have went to your 6 week check-up. It's better late than never. Make an appointment s soon as possible so he can make sure everything is okay. Do you not know that women are supposed to have pap smears once a year?

You would have noticed well before now if there were any problems. At my last 6 week check-up all they did was check my weight and blood pressure and examine my c-section scar. That was it. It would be wise to schedule an appointment now for a "yearly" check-up. If you are under 40 and not on birth control pills you should see the doctor every 2 years for a pap smear and check-up. If you are over 40 it's every year.

Best of luck!

They want you to go to the follow up appoint to make sure your uterus has gone mostly back to normal. They also check for other postpartum problems, such as having some of the placenta still inside, which could cause infection or hemoraging(but that would have happened by now and you would most likely know) But it is important to get your annual check ups.

If it's been three years and you're not having any problems, you're fine. If your incision was leaking or had a foul odor or you were in pain, you should have gone, but it sounds like everything was OK. I had my staples out a few days after giving birth, and they put steri-strips on my incision. I did go to my 6 week pp visit, but all he did was ask if I have any questions, look at my incision, and send me home. The internal sutures do dissolve, and if your uterus had come open or something had gone wrong, you would have known it LONG before now. :)

All they do in your follow up appointment is check the "healing" and give you a pap smear. They don't do anything "special" with your uterus. As long as your periods have been normal, you're probably fine, but if you haven't had a pap smear since your son was born, you need to go get one.

Go see your OB/GYN. You should have a check up at least once a year. There are so many things that can be caught early and treated but only if you see your Doctor regularly.

All should be fine, if there was something wrong, something would have turned up by now. If your worried just go have a pap. Not fun I know, I always put it off too but it will give you peice of mind.

It wouldn't hurt to see a doctor but I am very sure that if there were something wrong, you would have had some indication. If you are really stressed over it, you should see a doctor if nothing else, just to rest your fears.

you are probably fine- but, have you not gone to the ob/gyn for your yearly exam since the birth of your son?? that in it's self is a no-no. Call you ob/gyn on Monday am and get a check up.

Don't kick yourself, you're probably fine, after all you've been a busy mom. Make your appointment and don't sweat it. Yeah, I did the same thing, and all was well. But get back in the pap habit.
