This would be a much more competetive fight if both were in their primes than some may think. People forget how dominant Mosely was as a lightweight and in fact he bypassed the 140 lb to jump straight to 147. Mosely may have more power, but Mayweather's defense and counterpunching would make the difference. I know there are talks they may fight in November, but Mosley keeps denying it. We'll see if he changes his tune when he ehars how much money they'll offer. If not, Mayweather should fight Margarito.

I think Floyd would have a slight edge. He is just so fast and such a good defensive fighter. No one has really tested Floyd up to this point in his career. Shane is still a great fighter and with his recent win against Vargas(again),we may get to see this fight sooner than you think. Also,I think Mayweathers power is a little better than Shanes. It would be a great fight. If I had to predict, would have to say Floyd by a close, but unanimous, decision. When I remarked earlier that Floyd has a slight edge in power,I did not mean one-punch power. He seems to wear his opponents down over the course of a fight. I think Shane may have a slight edge in one-punch power..too slight to make a difference.

In their primes i think Floyd would win because he is better defensively and just as fast as Mosley was in his prime. And i think Floyd's power is somewhat underrated. It would be a great fight but i think Shane would have more trouble hitting Floyd cleanly than Floyd would have hitting him clean. I say Mayweather by decision in a heck of a fight!

Shane was a badass at lightweight and dominated every fight at that weight class
Mayweather struggled against medium sized lightweight in Castillo

GREAT FIGHT! I'd go with Mayweather though. IDK why, maybe because I've never seen him in the slightest trouble, however, his hands are prone to break, working in Shane's favor if it is in the first half of the fight. I'd go Mayweather, tight, yet decisive decision. De La Hoya wants Mayweather next then retire I hear.
