I think it's more of a respect for others' rights thing. No one should force their beliefs on others, but if they feel that personal connection in their lives, than asking for help is often a way of giving themselves confidence about the situation.
I also feel that if you believe in God, you should not just acknowledge Him when you need Him. But not everyone believes in Him, and we must respect their opinons as well.
Best wishes.

Religion can be a very volitile subject. It's considered a disruptive force in school and work and for those reasons its discouraged. In school its more a matter of keeping a seperation of church and state. Since public schools are a government institutuion its forbidden to discuss religion in anything other than a comparative academic manner.
From my experience and observations religion hinders progress and causes more harm than good on a whole. I am of the strong opionion that god does not exist. There have been studies that have shown that prayer is ineffective and alot of what people believe to be "miracles" or "supernatural" have been shown to have natural causes and are purely in our minds.
I look forward to the day when people wise up and we no longer have to tolorate this destructive force.

Because a "few" people don't believe in God, they went to court and file suite saying the the mention to God was offensive to them in public places. The courts ruled in their favor. For me, I just can't understand how so few can dictate what the majority can or can not say in public.

Because people like to think they are too sophisticaed and worldly to believe in God, but when tragedy strikes, they go to their core beliefs and ask for help from the very God they had previously denied.

IF those people would stop and realize that Jesus was not crusified in a closet. He was crusified on top of a mountain for all to see. He layed down His life for us in front of the world. So what is so hard about letting people know that you are a Christian living for the Lord? I am a Christain and proud of it. I am proud of Jesus and God and I don't care who knows it. Prasie the Lord!!

I have been trying to curb my taking His Holy Name in vain. I have had this ongoing sin problem with the GD (g*d dam* it) So I will catch myself after the God, and just plead to the Lord "God help me!" or "God bless America" It's been helping, but I want to eventually just stop using it for exclamations and strictly in praise during prayer.

I can't speak for everyone, but I never use the words "god," "Jesus," "Y'shua," or any other religious honorific as an epithet. In fact, I often mark the "God" off my paper money. I guess I'm just a crazy Atheist.

I think its because that religion was a big part in the foundation of our country. In that time, things are just so hectic that non-believers become believers and the such.

I totally agree with you...God is always there for everyone....including you.....everyday....everyminute...every hour.....Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the life.....lets not forget what Jesus did for all of us by dying on the cross and taking our sins and sickness there with him once and for all....so when someone says May God be with us....Just know he is...always...
