Director??? Yes, Ang Lee, was born in taiwan, got Best director of the year at 2006 Oscar (78th Academy Awards) with "Brokeback Mountain"

"Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" (2000) was produced / directed by Ang Lee, won the "Best Foreign Film Award" at the Oscar 2001 (73rd Academy Awards). This film also was nominated for Best Director and Best Picture Awards of that year.
