No "body" will dig up my "Body" 100 years from now to display in a Carnival/Museum (same thing without the clowns) .
Cremation then burial at Sea.

Some Hindus believe cremation will help them to reincarnate more quickly. Though I believe in the possibility of reincarnation I do not believe this would make a difference in such a matter. However on a physical level your matter would recycle and assimilate itself throughout the universe in a more efficient manner. So according to Nietzsche’s Eternal Return theory this could be a possibility to reincarnate faster as the exact same person, at the exact same time and place in history, or maybe not.

As for myself I do prefer to be cremated. First and foremost because I believe we as humans have already taken more than our share of the land. If anything I will have a plot of land bought in my memory to never be developed.

Secondly I think it not only gross but unnecessary the procedures they do on the dead. No embalming, metal wires, or anything like that, just burn me up quick and let those who truly care do with my ashes what they will.

Finally cremation is relatively more cost effective. Wherever I want my money to go, I do not want any more of it going to the mortuary than possible. I also do not want as much as my money going to the government as possible. They can print more if they want more. I want my money to go to one of three places, friends, family, and mostly to charity.

It's simple, much cheaper(especially in california where a funeral can cost you 30 to 60 grand) . There is no good reason to bury someone and sit around ssuffering during a wake or funeral. That only works to the funeral home's advantage.
We have cremated my two brothers and mom and it wa smuch easier on the family and the pocket book.
Even black peoples who until recent tiems have began to cremate their own due to the high charges funeral homes force on their customers in their time of greif. N example:There is no excuse for giving someone who never earned mush money a 10,000 ride in a 100,000 dollar limo just because he/she is dead and a lot of people are outing out of regular funerals.

I am among those who want to be cremated for two reason.
1. There are WAY too many people, and way too little land. People need land for homes. Farmers need land to plant crops. I don't need to be taking land away from two important endeavors to remain in an overpriced box until we both dissolve into dust.
2. Once I'm dead - I'm not "really" anywhere on/in earth. There is, in my mind, no need to have "a place" to go to remember. I've had many family members die and I don't go to the cemetery. They aren't there. I have my memories, and thankfully lots of pictures to keep them close. THEY aren't in that casket.
So, why waste the land, and money?
I also think it would be SO neat to have my cremains mixed with fireworks and set off in a great display fo pyrotechnics!!

It is a lot cheaper, as coffins and burials are extremely expensive. A lot of people want cremation when they die in order to spare their family this expense. Also, some people like the idea of having their loved one's ashes close by, rather then being in a cemetary far away, deteriorating in the grave.

I do not like funerals. The thought of someone staring at my lifeless dead body in a casket saying "She sure looks good" really bothers me. I also do not want to be a burden on my children. 500-2000 dollars for a casket? No thank you! I have told my kids, if Tupperware isn't making caskets when I die, cremate me, and have a little memorial service, and remember me as I was as I was alive.

Perhaps because human bodies don't go to dust and bones very fast anymore. A lot of places require airtight coffins, vaults that will withstand many hundreds of years of elements and the body is pumped full of chemicals that if you read the Material Safety Data Sheet on them would make your toes curl. Why pollute the earth so the land is unusable.

I think cost is the main factor. A funeral and burial costs from six to ten thousand dollars. A cremation is much less. I can't come to terms with it , though.

"Ashes to ashes... dust to dust." Maybe that's why.

Plus, it's cheaper than a burial service (by far!!!), it seems more natural than being bolted up in a wooden box six feet under where insects, mold, and rot will eventually get to your corpse, and this way a family member can take your ashes with them if they'd like, or you can request to have your ashes thrown in the sea or over a mountain side or in your backyard (try doing that with your dead body, haha).
