I imagine that's why a lot of priests choose to molest boys and sometimes girls. I don't know how anyone can stand up to those types of demands without cracking. Unfortunately it shows in a very bad way.

I would think it would be hard to be a celibate priest, because you may sometimes get erotic feelings very difficult to control, or you may fall deeply in love with someone and have to choose between leaving the priesthood forever or losing the chance to be with that person. I'm sure it can be done, but it's a very difficult discipline.

Priests need to have a normal family life like every other preacher does. There is no where in the bible that states preachers have to stay single. God gives them a choice. God feels that men or women alike, if they stayed single, then they could concentrate on God full time, but with a spouce they can only put more effort on their family and less on God.

1 Corinthians 7:32 But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:

1 Corinthians 8-9

I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I.

9 But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.

The term "burn" is referring to desires to be with a man. that burning desire.

You would have to ask a celebate priest. Anyone else would just be guessing.

It's hard, being a celebate anything...

When I got married, I became celebate to all except my wife...and when she isn't interested, I feel like I've been drafted into a monastary!

Some people ask for celebacy, some people have it forced on them...go figure...

probably.

not all priests take the vow of celibacy.

Priests in the Eastern Rite catholic churches(which are still catholic. they just dont follow the roman order or mass and the sacraments).

"Clerical celibacy is not, on the level of principle, obligatory for Eastern Catholic priests"

although it is still widely practiced.

I truly can't see why. Yeah, girls can be enticing and yeah sex is excting, but with out something more it's very lacking.

I can't see staying without a girl forever, but I also can't see being cheap.

Girls who are truly real are hard to find.

Better to have not than have less than what you deserve.

I think we have proof in these days that celibacy leads to perversion. Celibacy is not a natural state.

celebacy is not hard for anyone. Sex isn't like breathing or going to the bathroom, you don't need to do it to survive.
