Leukemia is cancer of the blood cells. Blood cells are made by your bone marrow, which is the soft tissue in the middle of most bones. In leukemia, the bone marrow starts making too many white blood cells, and sometimes these cells don't work right. These cells keep growing when they are supposed to stop. They also grow faster than your other cells. Over time, these abnormal cells crowd out your normal white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets. Your white blood cells help your body fight infection. Your red blood cells make sure all your body parts have the oxygen they need. Your platelets keep you from bleeding too much. When the leukemia cells crowd out your normal cells, your blood cannot do its job. You may bleed or bruise easily, get sick more often, and feel very tired.

Anemia on the other hand is a condition that develops when your blood is deficient in healthy red blood cells, which are the main transporter of oxygen to organs. If red blood cells are also deficient in hemoglobin, then your body isn't getting enough iron. Symptoms of anemia -- like fatigue -- occur because organs aren't getting enough oxygen. There are many types of anemia. All are very different in their causes and treatments. Iron-deficiency anemia, the most common type, is very treatable with diet changes and iron supplements. Some forms of anemia -- like the anemia that develops during pregnancy -- are even considered normal. However, some types of anemia may present lifelong health problems.

These are both blood disorders - leukemia is a cancer of the White Blood Cells while anemia is a result of not having enough Red Blood Cells. You can actually have both of these at once -. Usually treating anemia is easier than treating cancer.

both anemia and leukimia are blood diseases. while anemia causes reduced production of rbc's [red blood corpuscles] leading to weakness ;leukimia causes excessive production of defective wbc's [white blood corpuscles] which attack and weaken the healthy immune system.

"Leukemia is a malignant disorder (a form of cancer) that involves the bone marrow and blood systems. Leukemia results in the uncontrolled growth of abnormal (leukemic) white blood cells. As a result of the uncontrolled growth of leukemic cells in the bone marrow, there is inadequate space in the bone marrow for normal blood production (hematopoiesis) to occur. The lack of normal blood growth results in the lack of normal white blood cells (increasing the risk of infection), the lack of red blood cells (resulting in fatigue, weakness, and anemia) and the lack of normal platelet production (increasing the risk of bleeding).

There are many different types of leukemia." http://www.healthscout.com/ency/68/622/main.html#DefinitionofLeukemia
