I'm not sure if they've overcome this with the newer Plasma and LCD screens,. but I do remember hearing that with the older projection models they discouraged video game use due to burn-in.

That is, if a static image (such as the background in a video game) is on the screen for too long it could be permanently burnt into the screen, so you see it (faintly) even if you're watching something else.

Of course, many newer video games (depending on the type you're playing) also have backgrounds that change more than the video games of that era as well. This would still be something to ask the sales rep about. You don't want to spend a couple thousand bucks and end up ruining the thing within a few months to a year.

As far as clarity, the big screens are mostly Hi-Def ready so I would think that it should be clear enough.

If the only reason you are getting the TV is to play your playstation, then the projection screen is not the best choice. You will have problem getting the full image unless you are sitting right on front of it. Look for a flat screen tv that allows you to see a clear image even when not on front of it. Good luck

Yea its clear enough, put don't get a plasma because they suck. Get a LCD big screen. My opinion is that big screens are little over-kill for video games. We all grew up playing Tecmo Bowl or Mario Bros. on a little 13" or 19" T.V. you know what I'm sayin

Yes, there are some very large ones. a 56" bigscreen will run you about $2,500.

look into getting a 720p set (lcos or dlp) for price and good resolution. Check the refresh rates though, some cheaper ones may not be very good.

Yes it's not too bad, a little bit grainy if you sit too close.
I have a 43 inch Philips one and it looks great.

sure are, but for some of the games that need a lot a detail and I mean a lot of detail, you might want to go with high pixel LCD.
