I've seen this implied in some recent answers on Y!A regarding killing in war and if it's a sin.

Does God take sides in carnage?

God, as described in the bible, loves ALL people. Not just all people who live in a certain geographic area, or with a certain skin colour, or who call him only ONE name and not others, but EVERY person on earth equally.

When you fight a war, you are killing people beloved of God. In his eyes, killing a muslim soldier is just as bad as killing a nun who cares for the lepers.

God's side is with the people who are trying to talk instead of fight.

Well, Israel is at war, and according to Judaism, and, of course, even the Lubavitcher Rebbe, G-d will always help the Jewish nation, as he did with Israel during the 6 Day War, The War of Independence, The Yom Kippur War, and many other wars where Israel did not have a chance. So I think There is nothing to worry about for Israel.

Another thing I could answer is that G-d gave human beings free will to do what we want. We are the ones who decide to fight each other, because of the "bad side" he gave to everyone as well, in order to test us to see if we could overcome it.

While Israel was trying to take over some area , they came across an angel . Maybe it was Michael? Anyhow, it was funny b/c they didn't know he was an angel . SO they asked him "Are you for us or for our enemies?". He replied "Neither". He was just there to give the guy a message.
Sometimes I wonder if it's like that with God. I mean He doesn't love bloodshed . In the Old Testament, things happened because people didn't listen to Him. He prefers a pure heart over a sacrifice. I know He was behind Israel. But not all the time either. So, this is a long way to say I don't know. Sorry.

True christians don't fight in war. How could they? If there were christians in your country fighting christians in another, then how could we say God was in it?
The truth is most who say their christian , really aren't! God loves everyone & He is going to use certain nations to punish others.
In this in time a 10 nation group are going to unite to form a United States of Europe under one leader & this nation is going to defeat the United States, Britain, & all English speaking countries during whats called the great tribulation. This european group of nations will be headed by Germany. God is going to allow this to happen because we have turned our back on Him. The United States claims to be a God fearing nation, but in truth it is not. Go to this website for more information. Look up the United States & Britain in Prophecy.

No, god is focus on people not home land, although this is his world a fight between countries is like a fight between siblings in god's eyes. War is sin and every sin is seen the same way, like to God murder is just like lying

If you had two of your own children who could not get along with each other - would you dis-own , take sides - or choose to hate one vrs the other?? Would you choose to take ones "side" & abandon your other child?

I believe there is right & wrong & God will judge each man based on the choices they make regarding right & wrong in their life. It has nothing to do with "our" wars. God is with all of his children.

One of the 10 commandments is thou shalt not kill. That person was right. We created war. War was created upon our orifinal sin. God had no part in it....

Yes, it is possible. Quite simply, there are just wars. God is in control of all human events and does ordain who will win a war.

Sometimes. I mean, there's the biblical wars where they won thanks to God. But you'd think, with how far the world has come, we'd have some better way to solve problems than blowing up innocent men and women.
MY SUGGESTION (and it's bloody brilliant): No holds barred president-on-president battle to the death. Last one not in chunks wins. At least it's only one loss...

I would assume he would choose the side that was fighting against oppression, and murder. If there is a god, however, it would be impossible for us to guess what he would think about anything really.
