Exactly 2 weeks before you normally start your period. Keep track of your menstrual cycle on a calendar (I usually just use a small inconspicuous / and X to show when I start and finish) and your peak ovulation time is the middle three days on that second week before your period (Example: If you always start your period on a Tuesday, your fertile days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday on the 2nd week before then). Every woman's body is different though; while the typical cycle is 28 days, it can be anywhere between 15 and 50. I highly reccomend going on a birth control pill in order to keep the best track and really know EVERY month EXACTLY when you are ovulating (although I don't reccomend it if you are trying to get pregnant because the hormones in the pills aren't reccomend for pregnant/nursing women). I'm on Kariva (about $5 depending on your insurance company). It's an absolute lifesaver sometimes. I know exactly when to be prepared for my period, and it helps relieve my cramps sooooo much! I used to have to take Midol like candy, and now I rarely need it lol!

Taking the temperature is partially true. You need to have a themometer next to where you sleep. When you first wake up, without making too much movement, take your tempurature. The times you are ovulating it will run a little higher.

I could always tell because I was just a little more interested in my husband those couple of days! Once you figure out your cycle, you can also "time" for a boy or a girl. It works 50 percent of the time! LOL actually, It worked for us. Try for a girl by trying often and early, a boy by waiting and on the day or the day after you ovulate.

Of course, if you are having trouble getting pregnant at all, don't try to mix in timing also! Just get a baby!!!!

Its usually 14 days after your period but it can be different for some women. You can buy an ovulation kit at wal-mart, target, or even online. I can always tell when I am ovulating because I will have light, dull cramping the day of ovulation. Some women can tell that way and some can't.

Go to WalMart and in the aisle that has the preg tests there will be Ovulation Scopes there. They are real neat and very easy to use. All you have to do is spit on this microscope and if you are ovulating your spit will dry like ferns and you can use it as much as you want and they are only like $19. Good luck and Have fun making babies!!!

If you have really regular periods then ovulation usually occurs at day 14 of your cycle. If you aren't sure when you are ovulating get a ovulation predictor kit. They sell them at dollar tree. Good luck!
