I had a root canal done, well actually I never got it finished yet. Just the first part of drilling and temp put in about a year ago.Now I have a abessed right above the. The tooth never bothered me just throbbing and now it's swollen with a blister like thing. Does this mean I have to get a root canal all over again or just antibotics?

You say, "have the root canal done all over again," and you never had it completed in the first place. You will probably need some antibiotics to get the abscess resolved and then you need to have the root canal treatment completed or this will happen all over again.

You will most likely need to have the tooth pulled.
Don't worry, you will feel a l o t better after. I had a root canal that didn't settle down for 3 years and oh how great it felt to have it out finally.

You need to get the root canal finished that is the only way to get rid of the source of infection, antibiotics would be a good idea. You need to go back to your dentist

You need to finish the root canal and then after you have that done, you need to crown the tooth. This tooth has become reinfected because the root canal wasn't completed and now bacteria has gotten back in. Please call your dentist Monday and see when they can get you in.

I had my root canal done about a year ago too. Dont worry about it. If you go to the dentist hes just gunna squeeze the pus out of it, i still get them sometimes and i just kinda ignore em, they eventually get squeezed out thru chewing and u never even feel or taste it. when the dentist squeezed mine, I FELT IT!

POP the blister (it'll be painful while you pop it, but once the poison is out it'll feel 100% better) and get the dentist to finish the root canal ASAP..........Take care honey..........

The only reason I can think for a dentist not to see a patient at all is because you didnt pay your bill. Is there another reason that I can't think of????
