My family started out Baptist, then became non-practicing, non-denominational Christian. I wasn't baptized.
Then my mother and I converted to Judaism. I'm now an athiest, going to a Jewish college.
So, am I doomed to roast in the deepest firey pit of Hades?

Ah, the lost art of sarcasm...

Oddly enough, I can't blame Christians for turning me into the bitter, joyless husk of a woman you see before you.
I blame my mother. I didn't ask for the spiritual roller-coaster ride she put me on. I'm convinced we only converted because she went insane. Therefore, my entire spiritual life since I was 8 years old has been based on a lie. What kind of god would allow that?

First, I'm not sure whether or not you have accepted Christ or not. You stated you are not baptized... how old are you?

I can't say that i'm aware of anything sinful that you've done based on your question, unless you have accepted Christ and now reject Him. However, only an unrepentent heart risks damnation. Christ's mercy and forgiveness are infinite, and they are yours for the asking.

If you are searching or curious about Christ, I suggest you start with prayer. Ask for guidance. Next, begin to learn about Christ. Last year I went through a six month religion class for adults because I was tired of not knowing my faith. My life has not been the same since, and I am eternally grateful for what I learned.

A great place to start would be the RCIA classes, the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults, or a program for younger people if necessary at your local Catholic Church.

Trust me, you'll be glad you did.

God bless,

Danny

In my eyes? NO.

You sound like you have had an interesting journey so far. I wonder about the "blank" spaces (the parts we haven't heard).

Something influenced your opinion of the Christian God (btw, He's the same as the Jewish God). I'm guessing it was the actions of people calling themselves Christians!!! That can really suck the faith and heart out of a person.

BTW, "Hades" is from Greco-Roman mythology, not Jewish or Christian doctrine.

If you are a true atheist ,why worry about it , you believe in nothing anyway ? You are only doomed if you haven`t asked the Lord into your heart , and asked Him to forgive you of your sins ! That is the only thing that will keep you out of hell... ...Read the KJV of The Holy Bible..............Mark 3:29 But he that blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness , but is in danger of eternal damnation.......Understand , it is not anyone here on earth that you can go to save your soul , only to The Lord in Prayer with a contrite heart asking for forgiveness........An old saying from war-time -There ain`t no atheist in a fox hole !! Just imagine yourself taking your last breath on earth , and no hope , its` to late then !! May God Bless you with guildance and renewed understanding of what is at stake for you after death .. YOUR ETERNAL SOUL WILL EITHER BE IN HEAVEN OR HELL.....you have " Free Will " it is your choice.

Be at peace, You are not your family. The thief on the cross was never Baptized in water. Jesus told him today you will be with me in paradise. He was Baptized by the one Baptism. Baptism of the holy spirit. Baptism in water is a sign to men. As Circumcism of the flesh is a sign to men. It is the circumcism of the heart that makes a Jew.

There is only one sin in which there is no forgiveness. Blaspheming the Holy Spirit, to say that the messiah,s power came from Satan

you know it was the chinese leader, Mao Tse Dung who said, "religion is the root of all evil".
that was back in 1958..and he's still right.

religion is a man-made belief in a system we do not comprehend. it is something invented by man back in the day.

don't take it too seriously.

i would be more concerned about day to day life and events that shape the world such as this recent Middle East fighting and North Korea mess we are in..along with Iraq, Iran and other crazy things.

it's a bit too much.

No, you wont go to Hell for not "practicing religion" as you should. The Bible says our works are as filthy rags, we cannot earn our salvation. in fact, the Bible syas were conde, mned already because we have sinned and Broken Gods Law. For example, Have you ever lied? Have you ever stolen something? have you ever looked with lust? ever used Gods name in vain? If you have said yes to these questions your guilty of breaking four of the Ten Commandments, The BIble says if your found guilty of this and God gives you justice according to your sin you will end up in Hell. The Good news is that Jesus christ suffered and died on the cross to take the punishment for your sin. Repent (turn from sin) and trust Jesus as your Lord and savior. when you do this God promisies to forgive you of all sin past present and future and grant you everlasting life in heaven with him

According to Christianity, I am hellbound myself. I say we start our own religion in hell, then bust out. I wouldn't worry about the fire too much, since you won't have any flesh to be burned. All pain and pleasure comes from life, and nerve endings. I don't think we'll have any nerve endings in hell, therefore no suffering.

No , you are just a seeker. You seek the meaning of life and God will always continue to reach out to you no matter how far you go. The Bible says nothing can seperate us from His love.

if youre atheist you wouldnt be asking this question. Dont base your spirituality on fear, believe in something because thats what you believe. Ive been atheist for years and my outlook is much better than people who believe in something jsut because they are afraid they are damned if they go against what they were taught when they were a child. My belief system is also more solid than theirs too.
