Lets have a good disscussion about this- what are your motives for liking or disliking Jesus? You do believe you need him? Why or why not? Im just wondering because this has been one of the most controversial issues for awhile now and I want to see what the majority says.

Yes, I need Jesus, and I am man enough to admit it. I have been on both sides of the fence and I can tell you, I would never go back to that life, for anything. He gives me purpose in life, I know there is a reason for everything that happens, good and bad. He is my strength, some may say believing in Christ is weakness, I disagree, for it is written, "When I am weak, then I am strong" Christs strength comes through in my weakness. He is my companion and shelter when the tragedies and trials of life hit. I have probably experienced more trials and tragedies then many on this board, but through Christ, my faith hasn't faltered and through Christ, I grow stronger and more steadfast. Because of Christ, I can face anything this world throws at me, and have that peace and joy that only comes from Him. And when I near death, I will still have that peace, that calm, that joy, knowing I am not really ceasing to exist, but merely passing from this world into a much better place. So, yes, I need Jesus, I couldn't imagine living a day without Him.

I don't either like or dislike Jesus. He was a man who seems to have lived about two thousand years ago. What could I have to say about him now?

Now if it's his being God's son what we're talking about, then my answer is no, I don't believe that. Besides, I don't need to. My life has been okay so far. And none of the problems I do have would be solved by believing in him.

I don't have any particular feelings about Jesus, but I do have strong feelings against organised religions which manipulate those feelings. I have never needed to believe in a superior power. As a matter of fact, by not relying on a power beyond my control, and by trusting my own capacity to forge my own destiny, I've been able to go farther away than some other people who just sat down to wait for a miracle that never came.

I believe in me, for I have proof of my own existence.

I believe that the teachings of Christ are to some degree legitimate, and beyond doubt have influenced some of the greatest minds of our society. Therefore I need Jesus. I do not need Jesus to be the son of God, or to be nailed to a cross and speared for me. My "sins" are my problem, and frankly I would be angered at the idea of him being tortured, mutilated and killed to save me from the things that made me who I am. I am proud of my sins, without them I would have never learned a great many of the lessons I have learned in life. I can say that I do not dislike Jesus any more than I can say that I dislike Orlando Bloom. I've never met either of them and therefore can not make a judgement. As for what the majority says, I could care less. The majority is just as fallible as the minority. Good Question.

I do believe i need Jesus-Not only do i need him i believe fully that he exist.
I've been through numerous things in my life from drugs, raising children, and being married for a lot of years and trust me if there wasn't a god I would have long been dead or in the crazy house. I know it's hard to put your trust in something or someone you can't touch, but if you get on a personnel, spiritual relationship with him i guarantee you will not only feel him you'll see him also.

John 14:6 Jesus said, "I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

He give no alternatives.

Matthew 10:22 All men will hate you because of me, (Jesus) but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.

1Corinthians 1:27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise.; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

I do believe in Jesus. I basically always have, but just recently it was a concious choice. I noticed when I fully put my trust in Him I was more confident, and outgoing. I know that's not a big deal to a lot of people, but I was painfully shy, and now it's not so bad. That's only one of the reasons. He has also gotten me through a lot of bad times. That is part of why I believe. <><

No because 1) there is no proof of his existence other than the bible. We have physical proof of Julius Caesar and yet jesus is only mentioned in the bible...

2) I do not need someone telling me what is right and what is wrong, I know right from wrong but also i do not need someone to dictate how i have to live my life

3) People have used and still use jesus as an excuse to hinder and violate the rights of others who do not conform to their "way of life"

you know it was Mao Tse Dung who said, "religion is the root of all evil".
that was back in 1958..and he's still right.

religion is a man-made belief in a system we do not comprehend. it is something invented by man back in the day.

don't take it too seriously.

i would be more concerned about day to day life and events that shape the world such as this recent Middle East fighting and North Korea mess we are in..along with Iraq, Iran and other crazy things.

it's a bit too much.

Yes! Without Jesus I would be filthy dirty sinner with no hope. Jesus shed His blood on calvary for us so that we could be free from sin and live in Heaven with Him and the Father. Oh and by the way, there is no other way to Heaven except through Jesus. Jesus loves you.
