yes that is normal, i wouldnt worry about her spitting my child did that too when she was little. Try popscicles, freeze pops and anything cold on her throat. no ice cream as that will produce phlem and make her cough and irritate her throat even more. at night try childrens vicks and a steam vaporizer in her room to help her breath better. if she doesnt improve in a few days then contact your dr.

Call the doctor and don't give her any more motrin. She may have thick mucous in her throat that makes it hard to swallow saliva, but easier to swallow liquids, which you should get as much liquid into her as possible. But still, call the doctor's office and describe her symptoms to the nurse. She'll give you the best advice. If you're short of money and that's an issue, get down to Social Services and enroll in a child wellness program. Her health is more important than your pride, if that's a concern.

Do you have a humidifier? If so, use that and she will have a easier time breathing. Also, if you have Vick's vapor rub, it will help her swallow her saliva. Also, you could give her a Popsicle and that will help soothe her throat to have her swallow her saliva. Or get chloriseptic kids spray for the throat and that should help. If none of that works then just let her spit it out. You may also want to check with her pediatrician and see if they can suggest some things without having to take her to the doctor. Good luck. I hope things work out.

Yes, its normal. When you have a sore throat it hurts to swallow and because she is so young she just thinks it feels better to spit it out. I would give her medicine to help her with her cold and if she doesn't get better then I would contact her Dr. I'm sure she will be fine.

Mix 1/4 cup of benadryl, 1/4 cup Motrin, & 1/4 cup malox
if you don't have enough just do even portions. have her take a table spoon every 4-6 hours to help the soreness.

Yes, its normal.
I do the same thing. To me, the spit feels thick and it hurts to swallow but the juices and other drinks are smooth and light.
