Because there are so many Muslims trying to blow us up in addition to insulting us.

It goes the other way also. I have been on the receiving end of Muslim prejudice. But that is not to blame ALL Muslims, just the one. Not ALL Christians and Jews insult Muslims either. I have some Muslim friends that I like very much.
Most of the insulting comes from ignorance.

Don't worry, the people with the least amount of knowledge are usually the ones that speak the loudest. Take this site for example. There are so many people who make sweeping generalizations about religions, races, professions, EVERYTHING, but just understand that not everyone thinks this way. The really intelligent, compassionate, open-minded people (who understand that not all Muslims are terrorists) are too busy doing something constructive instead of bashing other people's beliefs.
So now you should understand that not all Christians and Jews insult Muslims . . .

I am a Christian and I am not insulting you.
Why did you just insult Christians and Jews by making a steriotype of them?
Why does the Quran say this?.....

Christians condemn groups like the KKK. Do you see the muslims saying anything about their radicals?
And do you hear what they say about Christians and Jews?

westerners are taught to hate muslims, and to view them all as terrorists. any fool on this board that thinks christians are somehow not okay with murder have not been paying attention to america's 'christian' president, the lying, mass-murdering bush. stupid people say muslims cut off people's heads and ignore that americans tortured and killed innocent people in abu graihb. why is that different? we dropped bombs on baghdad neighborhood restaurants because saddam might be there, and I didn't hear a single republican christian complain. so, please stop embarassing yourself with your utter shallowness and ignorance, those on this board talking about muslims as terrorists only.
westerners are taught nothing about what their governments have brutally done in the middle east - america and britian overthrowing iran's president and installing a murderous dictator in 1953, e.g. - and so cannot understand what muslim anger stems from.
the crusades were a terrible crime committed by 'christian kings' against the muslim people and territories. these crusades are still basically justified, never analyzed. of course you save the 'holy lands' from the 'infidels.' of course, few know that muslims think jesus was a prophet and that muslims have a religion essentially borrowed from the jews, by mohammed, who talked with lots of travellers.
few people know mohammed was trying to end idol worship, and was trying to save his small band of people from annihiliation by other arabs. he is basically taken out of context and misunderstood in the west.
ignorance is a huge culprit.
that said, i think any belief in the supernatural is ridiculous and childish, but christians, muslims, and jews are very very similar and westerners ought to get over themselves. of those three religions, it is clear that the muslims are the most devout and least hypocritical. still, everyone, get real.
these texts are not from god. they are from desert nomads struggling to help their people long ago understand our world and to get along. that's all. that's all. that's all. they have some good advice and they are filled with repugnant prejudices from ancient times.

I'm Christian, and don't have anything against Muslims. They believe what they believe, and I believe what I believe.
I have some Muslim friends, they like to criticize my American life, but there still kool and I don't insult them because I'm happy with my self and life.
