Go is your local pharmacy and ask to see the pharmacist. They usually can look at small stuff like that and advise you on what treatment is best. I had veruccas frozen off my feet years ago and that didn't hurt too much, there are tons more treatment for warts and stuff now and I'm certain that they won't hurt a bit.

It sounds REALLY similar to what I am going through. I have a wart and I think its spreading to a couple other fingers. Start treatment now before it gets bad. I had a callous on my middle finger from the way I held my pencil and now its a cauliflower looking type of wart. I have tried freezing it off, compound w, the wart band-aids, cutting it off. The next thing that I am going to try is duct tape. My doctor recommended using it with compound w because it will act also as an exfoliater, taking all the dead skin off. I would recommend that if you start with compound w, make sure that you are cutting off the dead stuff, usually looks like white fluff... another way you can do this is soaking your wart, or doing this after you get out of the shower. I also use an emory board and file off the dead skin that way to help it stay smaller while im treating it. I have tried everything and I have had my wart for almost three years. Its a process. Since the wart is soooo small, you may be able to cut it off, or burn it off. Easiest way to burn it off is with a magnifying glass. I know it sounds super sketch but it works. It will hurt. Dont get me wrong. But you want to kill the seed or it will keep growing.

Not sure it's a wart, warts usually have a bumpy appearance to them and they change in size. Could be a callous if you said it has dried skin on it. Ask your doctor, or look at images on the internet.
