Morpheus: The Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work... when you go to church... when you pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.
Neo: What truth?
Morpheus: That you are a slave, Neo. Like everyone else you were born into bondage. Into a prison that you cannot taste or see or touch. A prison for your mind.

Why bother with the first one, go to the last movie, to the scene where Neo ends in the figure as a crucified Christ.

So, what's your point?

You could say the same of Budhism, or even the Star Wars' Force.

The Matrix is a computer network akin to that which we answer notes like this on, but with humans directly hard-wired into a virtual reality world. That aspect is not psychobabble religion, that aspect is the basic premise for the fictional world of the film. Theirs is hardwired, ours is not.

A real prison for your mind is the world of secular humanism. And, for you, the guy that said Smith is intended to represent Jesus (?), why did the Wachowskies call Neo's sacrafice in the last movie "That Jesus thing"? Do some research. And we all know that the Matrix Trilogy is a source of authority on religious issues.

People often don't realize what a great impact the Bible has had on our culture at all levels. Many great works of art and novels contain Biblical themes and motifs.

As a Christian I can see the obvious parallels here between people who are in bondage to sin and who have been blinded to the glorious light of the gospel message by the "god" of this world.

2 Corinthians 4:3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing. 4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

What if our decision was to be blinded in a sense. To block out certain signals to have a human experience was the solution. Could also be talking about the 'system', in which fear and ignorance is utilized to keep the masses in states of confusion.

How about the part where they said they created a perfect world but no one accepted it. Tricky huh ...They kept waking up. Well would we need bodies if we were in complete understaning with each other....Enoch anyone lol Metaphysical movies are great

sadly, I disagree with everyone above me

this doesn't apply to religion, it applies to anyone who stops looking for the truth using science to figure out the truth of the reality of nature

I asked three weeks ago on yahoo answers what if you could take a pill that would let you see the truth, including if there was a god and then you would know for sure

everyone said yea i want that pill

one guy said no, no i dont want that

he wanted science, to learn, to do expiriments, that you can't ever take such a pill but you can use science to figure it out

anyone including atheists who say i know all there is to know has stopped living, has plugged into a matrix of their own mind,

they have committed intellectual suicide, they are in the matrix

i dont know if there is a god, there probably isnt, but im trying to find out for sure
