Fido, Spot, and Rover are classics, with Spot being the very cutest. Ernie is a very cute name. Bubbles is fine for a small, peppy pet. Thurston Howell, III can be shortened charmingly to Howie. There is no shortage of puppy names. Get to know your little monster and see what suits him. When I get a puppy, I'm going to call him Frederick Altamont Cornwallis Twistleton, 5th Earl of Ickenham, so please don't use that, lest there be some confusion.

My last dogs were named Buster and Butch. My sister-in-law has 2 dogs (Pekingese) named Keefer and Keely. You can name puppies whatever the heck you want. My son had a dog once named I.D., so go for what you like. Heck, name it Capt. Jack Sparrow if you wish, its your dog!!

I just read that Orlando Bloom's dog is named M'boy. That's an adorable name! Also, a former neighbor had a dog named Dee-oh-gee, spelled D.O.G. He thought it was cute and clever.

I love using god/goddess (egyptian, roman, greek, whatever) names on animals. My female black lab puppy for example, is named Athena, after the goddess of war and had we gotten a male dog he would have been Apollo after the messenger/music god.

Well there is dixie, satin, duke, dylan, sandy, rex, and freckles. Pretty much any name will do. Depending on how big or small the puppy is going to be.

Buttons--My first dog had eyes and a nose that looked like shiny black buttons!

Buddy--Even before I met my second dog, I knew I was getting a certain breed (schnauzer), so I named him Buddy because I knew he would be everybody's buddy--no matter who he met!
