My 3 month old kitten poops five times a day! This seems abnormal. And he always eats just before pooping, which is also weird.
My other kitten is kinda weird too.... he always meows loudly in the litterbox before pooping. And his poop is very hard, which is probably why he meows.
PS: Had them dewormed last week.

Uh the kitty always poop in the litterbox... never anywhere else. My question is, is it normal for him to be pooping so much. Should I cut down his feeding to three times or less per day?
The foods I feed him are: Whiskas, Natural Choice, Sheba, Fancy Feast..... all are wet foods for kittens.

Maybe they are eating a food to high in corn content, and need one with more meat and fiber.

The better the brand of food you feed your cats, the less waste they will produce. I was told this by a breeder many years ago, and found it to be very true.
Many brands of cat food especially those with artificial food colorings which make the food orange, yellow, green, etc... are not good for your cats. For years I used Iams, then switched to another brand, and now I have settled on using Hill's Science Diet. (They have hard food and wet food). I find that the Hill's brand doesn't irritate their digestive track and I scoop a lot less!!
When you switch your cat from one food to another, do it slowly...over a period of 3-4 days so that they don't get diarrhea. Switching your cat's food will probably solve the constipation problem that you other cat has as well.
Many people are under the impression that you can feed your animals anything and they'll be happy, however, proper nutrition is essential for many reasons. You can improve your cat's health by feeding them good foods rather than just inexpensive junk. Table food should never be an option for your cats.
If you'd like to learn about good nutrition for your cats, go to www.hillspet.com, they have a tremendous amount of information on how you can help your pet through proper diet.
As far as your 3 month old going to the bathroom right after he eats, that isn't abnormal at all. His body has timed itself that way. Some cats may have to go an hour after they eat, they're all different. Make sure you give them fresh water 1-2 times a day too... and encourage them to drink. Whenever they drink praise them.
The fact that you are noticing these things about your cats is wonderful, because it shows that you are paying attention to them!! They're lucky to have you... keep up the good work!!
Mother of 7 cats ;) and I have helped breeders as well. Good Luck!!

well, i'll echo everyone else's opinion here and give it a stamp of validity. lol!
are you feeding your kittens a high quality kitten food? don't scrimp on quality---get the high dollar stuff at your vets if you can afford it. all the cheap foods are mainly fillers, which can be anything from floor sweepings to lips and a$$holes.
so to get enough nutrients the kittens have to eat themselves to death. its like an old man i used to know--he'd fill his hummingbird feeders with NutraSweet---cause he said it was less mess than sugar. what a jerk. there's absolutely NO nutrional value to NutraSweet. i'm hoping the hummers could tell the difference.
anyway--feed the kittens a high quality kitten, NOT CAT, food. kitten chows are especially made for growing kittens.
the pooping will slow down in a few months. you've got to remember that your kitten started out as a ball of fluff and has probably double or tripled in size and weight since you got him or her. they are spending every waking moment playing hard and growing hard so they burn up LOTS of calories. by the time they're about a year old they will have achieved much of their skeletal, muscle and nervous system growth and then they'll require a lot less food. also, you'll be able to switch them over to a high quality cat food---they won't need all the extra goodies the kitten food has in it anymore.
and its not unusual for a kitten to poop soon after they eat. i know that puppies are the same way. when house breaking a puppy you always keep an eye on them after about 15-20 minutes after they eat because that's most likely when they're going to want to poop or pee.
sounds like your kittens are normal and it also sounds like they've got a good home. enjoy them now---i used to could spend hours of time playing with kittens, they are so much fun. now all my adult cats give me a look that says something to the effect "Just WHAT exactly do you expect me to do when you drag that string in front of me? Can't you find someone else to annoy"? lol

Could be not the right food, or is eating way too much food. If You are feeding a cheap Cat food, she could be starving on a full stomach, and is eating a lot to try to get what she needs.
Cheap is not Always the way to go when it comes to Nutrition.
The Hard Poop is a good sign that your Cat is not getting enough Liquid in their diet also, or the food does not have the right amount of Fiber in it.

Whenever an animal's behavior seems abnormal or weird to you, take it to a vet and have it checked out. What seems to be abnormal behavior to us, may actually be the symptom of an illness in our pet. Also, it is important to feed a cat a consistent diet. I've found that changing a cat's diet usually causes loose bowels, until their bodies adapt to the change. Cats are nibblers by nature, so I have found free-choice feeding of a good dry cat food works best. I always have fresh water available for them, as well. I must be doing something right, since most of my cats live to be 16 or 17 years old.

This is totally normal. I agree with the other responses about getting a more nutritious food. It's more expensive, but they eat less and poop less, so it works out.
Think of how often baby humans poop. Multiple times a day is healthy. It is also very normal to go to the litterbox right after eating. They will go less and less often as they get older, as their digestive systems get larger and they can hold it longer.

It's not abnormal for your cat to poop so much. The problem is that you give it wet food. Try putting your cat on dry food and see if it changes it's pooping habit. I would use dry food more then wet food because the wet food does make the crap smell worse. Maybe give your cat wet food once or twice a week and see if that helps.

if you are feed any food from a grocery store or wal mart that is probably the reason - these foods are lower quality with lots of filler so your cat must eat more to get the nutrion.. this is probably straining his insides causeing him pain at pooping too..
fillers are ingredients like by-products which are beaks feet and feathers and other non-food items...corn is also a cheap filler with limited protein
a good food puts CHICKEN MEAL or LAMB MEAL or TURKEY MEAL as the number 1 ingredient - anything else is filler... and your pet must eat a lot more..
in the long run the more expensive foods with less filler will cost you less since your kitty will eat less and have fewer health problems associated with the chemicals used in cheaper foods...
read the ingredient list for yourself

Slowly switch you kittens over to Science Diet. It is more easily digested and so there will be less waste in the litter box. It is a dry kitten food.

Don't let them free feed. If you feed on a schedule they will poo on a schedule.. Sounds like 1 of them is a little bound up ---a little canned food should help that and plenty of fresh water...
