well it's expensive....by air carrier or by boat....also make certain that you are permitted to drive in Beijing (most foreigners aren't).l Also you may find crossing the street on foot adventure enough...there's no way I'd drive in China...been there dozens of times.

If you are crasy enough to want to drive in Beijing, by all means ship your car here and see how long it and you lasts on the road.

If you are indeed eligible to drive in Beijing with a locally obtained driving license and proper registration plates for that good old car of yours, then you must have enough money to just buy a car when you get here.

Why would you even contemplate shipping an auto to China when the expense itself would equal the cost of buying a locally produced Chinese GM vehicle?

If you mean you want to ship the car here to sell it and not drive it, I suggest you do some research on the resale market place for foreign cars in China nowadays. It ain't worth the cost.

Sheezh..

I live in Shangahi now and am not allowed to drive per the Chinese govenment. I DO have an international drivers permit, but they do not care. The taxes that you have to pay to bring the car into China will kill you, plus the cost to transport it, make it not worth bringing. Sell it, bring the money to China, and if your allowed to drive, buy a cheaper car here. There are lots of very cool Buicks, Toyotas, etc here to buy and some now are very comfortable and sporty.
