God loves irony. He's a big fan of the EC Comics, so He enjoys the fact that His Bible is the most stolen book around even though one of the Commandments prohibits theft. ;)

Seriously, most Churches consider the Bible to be 'free', thus you can't steal anything that's technically a freebie. Course, family Bibles are a different matter.

i think i know why. in hotel rooms, when you getting your stuff together its easy to put bible in your stuff too, i've done it. but i didn't mean to. everyone's got bibles at home to read, wouldn't make any sense to intentionally take it when its of no value to you since you have several at home... so its either people who have no intentions of going by rules taught in bible, or people who UNINTENTIONALLY take it.( if you are serious about asking this question, and i don't know that its the most stolen book either, when there's one in every hotel room, and millions of people stay in hotels every day... then i guess you could see why). And i'd bet money that the part about christian book stores saying that is not true, whoever wrote that is a liar. the bible bookstore i go to keeps expensive ones in plain view...not hidden behind counter.

Like dear old dad used to say, "If someone steals my Bible, they obviously need it more than I do."

Obviously, when they were reading it, they didn't get that far...! Perhaps if the commandments were printed inside the cover, instead of in Exodus....

Could you provide some proof of your groundbreaking and seemingly irrational comment?
