It could be hormonal or chemical. Here's what you can do. Take some chamomile tea and get a good night's sleep. Tomorrow go to a health food store or section of a supermarket. Get some almond butter and a good B-complex vitamin B-100. Make a piece of multigrain toast with almond butter every morning for breakfast. Take one B-complex vitamin a day. Get some moderate exercise every day. I hope you feel better.

Sometimes we all have times where we feel sad for no reason.......Ive had a few myself and it didnt mean I needed pills or a doctor it just meant i was feeling down.
It perfectly normal to feel sad sometimes and not to know really why you are sad, but its also equally or more important to keep your mind busy and thinking happy thoughts. There must be some happy thoughts or memories you have that you can focus on. Also if you can go to someone you can trust and just talk out the feelings you are dealing with. For me its my mother who i talk to and believe it or not it really helps not to hold in all those feelings.
I also read the Bible and Pray about them too and its very true that Jesus will take that saddness from you. He has for me. One other thing you could try is writing in a journal about what you are feeling and why you think you could be feeling that way.
Whatever you do dont hold them in....if you have to talk or cry or do both just do it. I know ive had to talk and to have a good cry and they do help....leaving those sad feelings inside could cause them to build and we dont want that to happen.
Good luck and I will be praying for you.

Get a hobby. Quit feeling bad over nothing. I'm sure you could find some sympathetic doctor who will tell you that you're just helpless and will need a lifetime of drug therapy ... is that what you want?
I'm not suggesting that depression isn't serious. But if you're fuctional and motivated you can tackle this without being overmedicated. Geez, as corny as it sounds, go shopping. Go to the movies. Go bug your parents. Misery loves company!

You may want to search Yahoo!Answers for this topic, as it is asked regularly, and has gotten some great answers.
It could be that your feelings of sadness have their roots in low blood sugar - something that happens to everybody every day, but for some it can hang around. Your upset yesterday could have triggered it, especially if you didn't eat, or eat well as a result.
For basic information on hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), check out www.hufa.org, especially the symptoms link.
For information on its precursor condition – hyperinsulinemia – check out www.mayoclinic.com/health/hyperinsulinemia/.
