We created the problem by allowing it to happen in the first place. Now their children have been born here, educated here and have been integrated as Americans in our society without having to play by the rules that legal citizens do. How many of these citizens filed a 1040 this past year? How long did you or a loved one have to wait at the emergency room last night while they received free medical care. Oh yes, they can get medicaid which your social security taxes help pay for. Wow, I wish I had that good of insurance. Wait, I think my insurance is billed a higher amount to cover those who aren't covered. A double whammy. (Also covers some legal citizens, as well.) There are many wonderful people that are illegal immigrants, but we must play by the rules to keep order. I am afraid we may have reached a point of no return (pardon the pun). We will probably have violence in our streets before we close the borders too tightly. We will reap what we sowed.

gwarr129 - In answer to your comment to me, I think I did address your question. But in answering you, I also sought to expand your thinking a bit. I have seen numerous illegals, in New York and other places, who also present a negative image, but we, as Americans, seem to have more intolerance for those whose skin color is not white. I'm sure that most of the early European immigrants to this soil were not welcomed by the indigenous peoples who inhabited this land. They were thought to be aggressive, and arrogant. They also had the strange habit of killing the people and taking their land, oil, trees and other natural resources.

I don't know why you single out Mexicans from all of the illegal immigrants who enter the US daily. Maybe it's because most of the news stories address only Mexican immigrants. But what do you think about Russian, Ukrainian, French, English, Canadian, Australian, etc. immigrants? Do you think they also have a racial problem? I think you get my point.

The more illegal Mexican immigrants flood into the US the bigger the problem will become. Eventually, as taxpayers realize the scope of the problem, a backlash will develop, and the Mexcians will be targeted as an undesirable element. To the extent that Mexicans remain Mexicans and make no effort to be law-abiding citizens the backlash may occur sooner and become more violent, and it will make Selma Alabama of 1964 look like small stuff indeed.

Yes, they have caused Americans to dislike them since Bush came into office. They have become arrogant and a threat to the blue collar class. My stepfather was a construction worker, it was Blacks and Whites doing construction, now I only see Hispanics doing it, and making good money from it to.
They receive a minute training in what took my stepfather and others of his era a year to learn.

They cheat and steal and everything goes back to Mexico.
But the white collar workers are keeping the illegals here so maybe we should be angry with them for hiring illegals do to a $10/hour job for $4/hour.

It does not surprise me you rationale that illegal aliens are not welcomed here. If they were'nt welcomed here, then why are they here living and working and doing everything just like anyone else? These people are needed here and wanted here. Just ask president Bush. By no means do these people ignite fuel towards themselves. Trust me. You are right about igniting hatred but to ignorant american people like you, the vigilantes (minutemen), and grandpahammer, etc. To all of you people asking yourselves why is america so hated throughout the world? Not only is throughout the world now but its on your own backyard. Mexicans USED to look up to america. Now, you just get the scum flowing in illegaly and making you deal with them.

No..The racial thing is what the "other side" throws at you to make you feel guilty. When the "Left" can't make a reasonable arguement in favor of their cause, they finally throw out racism as the final "rock" that they can throw at you, in a lame attempt to make you feel guilty, and maybe change your position, so as not be labled, "Racist". The Truth is, that it is a matter of obeying the laws of the U.S. That we are a soverine nation. That the illegals have invaded our country, and are DEMANDING rights. It is out of controll. These people don't want to assimilate into our culture and become Americans, the want US to become THEIR culture.

yes they are making their own problems, most people seem to keep ignoring a very imporant word ILLEGAL in illegal immigrant, these people are foreigners (not american citizens) breaking american laws, they don't have the rights of citizens, so by them trying to use the same rights that we have as citizens they are upsetting a lot of people, and casting a bad light on their nationality, which there many who live in this country legally.

My knee-jerk response would have been to say, "Yes, absolutely," but then I stopped and considered that racial problems usually spring from situations in which peoples of different racial backgrounds choose not to associate with one another -- i.e., the blacks have their side of the cafeteria, the whites and Arabs have their side (which is how it was when I went to college back in the early 90s). This disassociation is often unconscious and is based almost entirely upon looks -- that is, in the absence of any other information about two groups of people, you would tend to assume that the people who look like you would understand you better.

So, the preference to associate with people of one's own race is something natural and instinctual, and it shouldn't necessarily be condemned unless that drive also evokes feelings of distrust and anger toward people not of one's own race. This preference is also worthy of condemnation if it restricts a person from displaying positive behaviors that, by the "gospel according to peer pressure", aren't normally associated with one's own race. (Hence the disdain shown by some minorities toward members of their own race for "acting white", i.e., being successful.)

So, do illegal immigrants make their own racial problems? I think it depends a lot upon how willing and open they are to embracing people outside their own race and status, and I also think it depends a lot upon how willing and open people outside their own race and status are toward accepting them.

Absolutely, and they have NOT observed the Basic Rule: Thou shittest not where thou eatest.

The border fence needs to go up, the number of illegal immigrants needs to go DOWN. Ready, citizens/city-state government? GO! LOL
