Lots of liquor...for all of you. Just kidding. Keep them active and doing things. You didn't mention any ages. Cheap arts and crafts...hide and seek, sardines. red light green light, baseball. The internet is a wonderous place with tonnes and tonnes of ideas for crafts made with stuff you can find around the house.

Keep repeating this mantra until you find your calm center: "Human parents don't eat their young..."

Seriously, though, it can be tough, especially during summer break. Getting them outside, like to a park or public pool, is always a good idea, plus all the exertion makes for an easy bedtime. You might check your local movie theaters; some have free movies in the morning that would be a fun diversion. If they're old enough, have them help you with chores like vacuuming that give them something to manhandle, for lack of a better word. If they're young, then you'll just have to find activities that work for you... play-doh, paints and chalk work for mine. Best wishes!

depends what they are screaming about: if it is just being loud and playing, i walk into the room they are in and start screaming and playing what they are. They stop and look at me like I am nuts, and then I nicely say, yeah that is what you guys look and sound like.

If it is a painful or hurt scream, I go and check what the problem is.

It also depends on their ages.

have three screaming kids of my own!!!
they get bored in the summer and aggravated with each other because it is too hot to go outside!!
when my kids start to act up we go driving!!! Just to give them a change of scenery and that usually works!!!

Feed them good whole foods. No junk food with artificial colours, sugar and artificial flavors. You would be amazed at the difference this makes. Lots of vegetables and fruit, whole grains. Always read ingredients. No packaged foods, they have all kinds of crap in them. Try it, you'd be amazed at how badly our poor diets can affect behaviour and emotions even.
