Flea problems require a great effort on your part in order to get rid of them. First..take your dog to the vet and make 2 purchases. One should be a prescription medicated shampoo to help releive your dog of his itchy sore skin, you may even need some medication. The 2nd purchase should be a topical flea repellent that your vet should sell you from thier office. This stuff works! You just have to make sure it is applied correctly. It needs to be applied directly to the skin between the shoulder blades. If it is applied to the hair, it will not work. Your vet can apply it for you!!!!! Just ask them. After treating your dog, you need to treat your home. The easiest most inexpensive way is to sprinkle baking soda on your carpets. You can vacuum it up later. It will not harm your pets and it will kill fleas. Any flea that gets on your dog will die from the topical medicine, so you dont have to worry about them reproducing. You may have to apply this once a month, so you should pay attention on how its done when you are at the vet's office. Lastly, DONT waste your money on flea bombs and expensive shampoos.. they wont get rid of the fleas like the topical meds will. Let me also add that this stuff works Right Away!! Also... your dog could be allergic to flea products you are buying from a store. My dalmation is allergic to flea collars and broke out in really bad sores, so stop wasting your money.

Oh man I feel so bad for you and the dog. I've been there. It takes 1 damn flea to cause so much misery. Fleas are very hard to get rid of but it can be done . First call an exterminator and have your house and yard done . next take the dog to the vet and have them give an injection of vetalog. this is a steroid that will help with the itching and healing up the sores. it should be a 1 time thing . its hard on the liver. ask the Dr. if they have a product call cap ster, its a small pill that is give orally , it lasts for only 24 hours but will start killing the fleas with in a few minutes. buy front line and use it monthly. the Dr. may have you bathe the dog with a medicated shampoo. do not i repeat buy any products fron the grocery store . We make lots of money from people who try home remedies. you will most likely have to retreat the house and yard a few more times. the Dr. may have you use Benadryl for the itching or send home a prescription for this. good luck and I hope I have been of some help.

GETTING RID OF FLEAS.

lime in the yard. after you put a flea and tick killer in the yard sprinkle lime in the yard. can be bought at your local feed store or home and garden. fleas, ticks, and even snakes don't like lime. this does work and it makes your grass greener.

sprinkle a drop of lavender oil in the bed the dog sleeps in fleas do not like lavender oil. I read this in a (natural ways of ridding pest book.) A drop is suppose to do the trick.

Also in this book i have read a vitamin b suppliment works it's way from inside the dog's body to get rid of fleas. these 2 I have never tried. and as the vitamin b I would ask the vet and if o.k. how much you should give.

I have use frontline plus and avantage and they work about the same. The problem with this is the flea is still going to bite the dog.

flea collars for the vaccumn cleaner. if you have a cannister vaccumn cleaner you can insert the flea collar. when the fleas are vaccumned up this will kill the fleas and they can't get out. I don't use flea collars on my pets just in the vaccumn.

I use a creme rinse that i get from my local vet to relieve some of the itching it has pramoxine HCI in it. It is actuallyfor seborrheic dermatitis(honestly i need to look that up) and it does pretty well on my dog who has flea allergies. The vet never recommended it I just had it and started using it and it seems to be working. good luck

Are you sure it is fleas that she is allergic to. Give her a flea bath and have the vet prescribe a medication for her.
There is a possability that she is allergic to something else - human food etc.

Hi my dog has the same problems and I have something that is called 3V Caps Liquid

it is a concentrated dietary supplement containing fish oil, a source of Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids plus vitamins A D & E it helps the dogs hair grow from the allergy. Ask your vet you put it in his/her food. It has worked but Im being honest it takes a awhile. good luck. I know how it feels when your animals are in pain.

don't try any kind of products if you don't know if they will even work because those products might hurt her, or might shorten her hairs! so go to an american doctor and ask them if they can help your dog.
