I agree. Attacking someone who is attacking you or your country (and therefore a combatant) is self-defense.

Hamas was recently elected into office in Palestine. Hezbollah holds several offices in the Lebanon Government. Both Hamas and Hezbollah are terrorist organizations. If you elect terrorists to lead your government does that not mean that you are a terrorist? Every action that takes place in these governments is aimed at the end result of destroying a people completely. That would be terrorism to me.

If you plant the seeds of hate into a governement, then you will have a hateful government. Both organizations exist to make Israel cease to exist. Israel is supposed to stand by and wait till they get strong enough to accomplish this goal? Both organizations have refused to accept Israel's right to exist.

I'm not a rocket scientist, but it seems fairly simple to me. Accept your neighbors' right to exist and there will be peace. Don't, and peace will not follow.

The fact of the matter is that - under the Laws and Customs of War - every dead civilian is a Palestinian war crime.

The rules are very clear that if an enemy uses civilians for cover then the deaths of those civilians is on their hands.

It seems that the Israelis are taking more care to protect the lives of Palestinian civilians than the people the Israelis are fighting.

This fact alone tells me who I should be in favor of.

Then you don't remember the bombing of the Marine barracks in Lebanon. The US Marines were brought in, as UN peacekeepers to stop the fighting between Israel and the Moslem extremists. The extremists didn't want to anyone to stop their war so they drove a truck bomb into the Marine Barracks. The result was a lot of dead US Marines, that hadn't even a chance to do anything, and Beirut was turned into a war zone for almost a decade. Even then the Moslem extremists remained in Lebanon and continued to support attacks on Israel, hence the situation we have today. Israel will probably have to invade Lebanon, again, to oust the Moslem extremists. The Lebanonise government is too weak to do it themselves, and no one else will go in there to help; not after what happened to the US Marines. This is causing unrest in the Middle East, which is hitting us all in the wallet. The price of gas didn't just jump to $3.00 because we are running out of it, we aren't. Gas jumped to $3.00 because of unrest in the Middle East. If Israel gets into another war in Lebanon then Iran could shut of her supply of oil; can you say hello to $4.00 a gallon gasoline? All because the terrorists attacked military personal.

You also forgot all about 9/11. Or do you think the terrorist attack on the Pentagon was legit? Or how about Hamas firing rockets into Israel? They claim that they are only targeting military targets, but they are really TRYING to hit the civilians. Also do you think that Hamas had the right to kidnap the Israel soldiers? The first attack was planed to capture soldiers, but they pulled it off so badly that they only got one Israeli, and he was wounded.

Terrorists do not have the right to attack ANYONE. It ALWAYS escalates into an attack on civilians. The only reason they are using terrorism is because they cannot win using normal tactics. Terrorism is a tactic of desperation, and a tactic pulled off by a small group that is unhappy with what everyone else is doing. It is the equivalent of saying I don’t like they way you are playing that game of tag so I am going to throw firecrackers at you and shoot you with be bee guns. Oh, you decide to run away, okay then I am going to kidnap your dog and threaten to kill it. Do you think that is a fair way to play a game of tag?

The Lebanonise government is aware of the Hezbollah movement; it is not a legal government in Lebanon. (They were not elected in Lebanon, only in Palestine.) The Lebanoise wish they could get rid of them. These Moslem extremists have been attacking Israel from there and Palestine since the 1980s. "Hezbollah”… “(meaning Party of God) is a militant, radical, Lebanese Islamist group, with a military arm and a civilian arm, founded in 1982 to fight the Israeli occupation of southern Lebanon." The only reason Hezbollah exits is to "drive Israel into the sea." … “However, as it initiates attacks against civilians in Israel and ideologically supports such attacks by other organizations, such as Islamic Jihad and Hamas, and many governments, including the United States, have designated it a terrorist organization.”

"Hezbollah is a Lebanese umbrella organization of radical Islamic Shiite groups and organizations. It opposes the West, seeks to create a Muslim fundamentalist state modeled on Iran, and is a bitter foe of Israel. Hezbollah, whose name means “party of God,” is a terrorist group believed responsible for nearly 200 attacks since 1982 that have killed more than 800 people. Experts say Hezbollah is also a significant force in Lebanon’s politics and a major provider of social services, operating schools, hospitals, and agricultural services, for thousands of Lebanese Shiites."

If someone wanted to wipe you out, no matter what, then what would you do? Israel is only defending herself. In these recent attacks Israel didn’t strike first, Hezbollah did. Israel didn’t pass any new laws or sancitons against Hezbollah, those were in effect since the end of the 1980s, and honored by many nations, not just the United States. The world gave Hezbollah a chance to reform after they were elected as the government in Palistine, but they refused. They continued to deny Israel’s right to exist and to plot against them. These attacks are in response to the latest escalation in a war that has been going on since the end of WWII when the Israel nation was first formed and to continue to the Moslem agenda to destroy the nation of Israel.

attacking combatants is battle, it's war, and unforunately there is a thing called collateral damage which means sometimes civilians get killed in the process, if you look at wwII there was THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of civilians that were killed in the course of that war.
