most parent corporations give their individual establishments the CHOICE to offer various discounts such as military, law enforcement etc, it comes down to the establishments management more often than not, they look at the cost of giving a discount vs. the extra patrons that the discount might provide. sometimes the mangers don't have enough economic sense to really figure these things out and unless corporate tells them to give the discount they don't offer it. it has nothing to do with a company supporting troops or the war. I purchased a futon a few months ago from a store that did not offer military discount but the clerk gave me a "i like you since you are a fellow veteran" discount, LOL of course he forgot to add on a couple fees and i got it even cheaper...

I guess some people appreciate the military more than others. Do you think if one of the owners was anti-war they would be giving discounts....don't think so.

If it is a franchise, then each individual owner is able to set their own policies as long as it isn't something that is covered by the franchise agreement

personal choice. Private business owners can dictate policy.

besides.. being in the military doesn't entitle you to discounts or special treatment. if someone wishes to honor you by offereing one, great. but you have no right to expect or demand one.
