this stone is like a diamond but has more beauty. Has a cheaper price but is nothting like Cubic Z.
Is this ring just a knock off. or it's own stone in it's own right

Moissanite is a silicon carbide crystal created in a lab. It is almost as hard as a diamond so it will hold up well. Engagement rings are traditionally diamond, but it is what the ring symbolizes that is important, not what it is made of.

I think that they are fine - any stone in an engagement ring is fine. The only time I think people really look down on "fake" diamonds is if someone tries to pass them off as a real diamond. Even then I think it's more the lying than the actual stone! (I know it sounds crazy, but I've actually known 2 people who have bought CZ/another diamond knockoff and tried to convince their fiancee that it was the real thing!!)

But moissanite is such an interesting stone, I don't think people would lump it in with CZ stones or other ones like that. It would make for a great ring, and a conversation piece too if you know about how it's made and where it comes from.

I think they are absolutely beautiful! I have one but I have a 1 ct. diamond in my engagement ring.

Jewlers always know my moissanite is real and they compliment my hubby for "doing good".

Just think about how you might feel years down the road. If you would still love it, then it's fine. You're right, it's not a cz.

It's actually pretty neat how they're made too. Just make sure you get a certificate. Moissanites are neat to have and are only made (grown) in one location.

It is a stone in it's own right but it is not found here. Moissanite came here from a meteor. We were able to break down its components so we can grow it, that's why it is so cheep. A jeweler can explain it better.

What does it matter what it is! I have emeralds! Its my birthstone so I love the stone and asked for my wedding set to have emeralds instead of diamonds! Everyone always gasp and ask where I got them and tell me that they are beautiful.....
So dear just remember
"BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER!"
If you love it GO FOR IT!!!!!
Congrats!!!!!

It's your engagement and your ring. If you like it, it could be a piece of aluminum foil. Just as long as you are satisfied with it is all that matters.
