To say that your standards are better than someone else's is too much like a religion, because that is based on opinion and philosophies, not on reality. Since without a god in an unthinking world, there is no objective judge to define what is "better", who are atheists trying to convince besides themselves?

By absolute standards, I mean spiritual and moral ones, not pertaining to the laws of nature. And denying that atheists haven't been saying that they're better is useless, since they do it all the time in their posts on yahoo answers.

There are absolute standards. Nature decides who will go or who will stay based upon the Net Creativity of a species. If your species consumes more resources, or doesn't have enough diversity to handle catastrophe, then you will become extinct. Simple. All morality can be extrapolated to our Net Creativity via diversity, creativity, individual, community, and humanity -based actions. In the end, all judgement will be done by the universe based upon this absolute principle.

Having been to Korea when the trouble over there started and going through some of it, I would like to give them military training, sufficiently arm them, then send them over to all the hot spots and see how long they remain atheists. The old saying of There Are No Atheists in Foxholes, still holds true today.

It is contradictory. There has to be truth, and there is absolute truth. It is real. There is a God, and whether we believe it or not does not make it untrue. Jesus is the way the truth and the life.
One day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that He is Lord.

I am an Atheist, and my standards are no better than anyone Else's...I choose not to be believe...you choose to do so.That is your prerogative as mine is not to believe...Your answer is pushing your believes on atheists....makes me wonder about your standard...I don't look down on anyone that believes or doesn't believe...
I don't try to convince you as you have your own mind...and certainly don't have to convince myself.
And I am most certainly not better than anyone else.

Where have atheists been saying that they are better than everyone? The rest of this makes very litle sense.

Atheists do naturally think they are better for some reason. They really need to be more humble.

I don't think I'm better than everyone. Don't lump what one or a few people state as their personal fact into a vast majority.

Better? No. Simply more consistent, peaceful, and tolerant.
