Hello I am looking into reseaching pools, what is a salt water pool and what are the major benefits? I am getting confused, with that and just a regular pool!

It seems to me that a regular pool is the way to go. You still have to use chlorine (although not as much) with a salt water pool. Since the salt water will corrode metals much faster than fresh water, expensive equipment upgrades are in order for a salt water pool.

For my money, I do not think the benefits of a salt water pool (largely less chlorine) outweigh the considerable extra costs.
