Can you take dogs inside a store if you have them in a dog purse?? I know Petco and Petsmart allow dogs in but I was wondering if places like Wal-Mart do because I don't like leaving my dog in the car especially when it's hot and she has a fit if I leave her at home.

I see people doing it all the time at the Walmart here. Most of the time they just carry them in a purse. If your dog is small I wouldnt see a problem with it at all! :)

You should crate train your dog. Also, noise sometimes helps. For example, if you are someone who listens to the radio or watches TV a lot those would be sounds the dog is used to and may help calm the separation. Try to "ease" you and your dog into it. Maybe leave the dog alone the first time for 15 mins, then 30 mins, then 45 mins, etc. As far as crate training goes, there is lots of info on the net on how to SAFELY crate train your dog. As to taking them into stores, most companies have signs that say: Only "helping" dogs (can't think of actual name), no pets.

if you look at the entrance of stores, they usually tell you "no pets allowed" or something. if there isn't a sign saying so, i would take your dog in, in a purse, and if they ask you not to bring your dog back, just make a mental note of it and remember that your dog is not allowed in that particular store.

Most stores do not allow pets in their places of business. While
you may want to take your pet inside other customers do not
want to see that. If for some reason your dog got loose and did
damages you could be responsible for it and be sued for a huge
amount of money.

Crate her at home and let her have a fit, she'll learn it will get her nowhere and she'll calm down.

Technically, pets are not allowed in most retail stores (excpt for registered service animals, or stores like PetCo and PetSmart).

Different stores have different policies. Most that will not allow pets have a sign out front.
