lol I'm starting high school next year & I was wondering if the people actually ate, or if it was "uncool" to eat. Just wondering..

Haha, I remember thinking the same thing too!

At my high school there was a cafeteria and little food carts stationed all over campus. No one really ate in the cafeteria because it was like a dungeoun, haha, and the food didn't look like real food. We all usually got a burrito or sandwich from the carts or brought our own food.

Don't worry, it's not nerdy to actually eat!

eating lunch in highschool as it was in grade school or middle school. You should eat no matter whether it is cool or not. The seating arrangements might make you more or less comfortable as far as who you sit with. If your friends are eating then you will be fine. Just find a friend who will always eat with you and you won't feel left out during lunch hour. Don't starve just to be cool.

Oh wow. Of course people eat in highschool! And even if was "uncool" for some stupid cliques, what makes you think that every single person is in the same clique? What about those nerds and jocks who don't give a damn?

No, they all eat. But there is a wider variety of "junk" food than in middle school. Like, my school always has chili cheese fries and bosco sticks(sorta like bread sticks with cheese in the middle) and you can buy chips, chocolate, candy....whatever you want, and there isn't a limit. We also have little Caesars pizza all the time to and like I said you can get as much of it as you want. In middle school we had small proportions and only healthy food, so its a big difference. I guess now they think we know how to eat for ourselves, lol.

If you have any questions about high school e-mail or IM me, cause I've had 3 years experience (I'm a senior now, yay!)lol.

i teach high school and yep they eat. almost everybody eats something. but each group of friends will tend to set up a routine like one group always goes through the hot food line, one group goes for the pizza stand, one group gets chips and gatorade at a machine, some eat outside in the courtyard. it depends also on the school rules for what and where they provide food. don't worry. there are plenty of tater tots in high school to go around and all the kids eat that or pizza or both it seems.

No, there was a new law that just got passed starting 2006-2007 school year. Freshmen are not allowed to eat lunch, unless they are repeat freshmen. They have to wait another year.

It's typically considered dorky to bring your own lunch.

The seniors get to drive and can go off campus for lunch, and that's considered cool.

The kids who stay on campus eat the cafeteria food mostly, which is disgusting, unhealthy crap. I think it's a shame. I wouldn't eat there if my life depended on it.
