yes that is totally normal. when i was over there, sometimes we got to use a satelite phone, (kind of like a cell phone) and sometimes it would lose signal or the battery would die. or sometimes the phones just suck and that happens. dont worry, it doesnt mean that something bad happened, just crappy technology.

Yes, very normal. Either they passed the time they were allowed to talk, or if they were in an area where they are allowed to use the phones for free, someone might have passed on information that was not good OPSEC (operation security, in case you didn't know), so all the phones had to be shut off so they could figure out who it was, and what was passed on.
There's been a lot of information given to the press before the spouses even know, because if one soldier leaks something to his wife, sometimes she goes to the press with it. I know for a fact that it's happened.
But don't worry about it. It happens quite often.

I have a buddy whose brother died formerly as a tender guy. She said she feels him being right here on social gathering, nevertheless in spite of everything those years. sometime, she rang me very excitedly and informed me to go back to her homestead quickly. She's operating from homestead and has an answering device. at the same time as she performed the tape, I heard a lady inquiring for an appointment, and between her voice and those of small little ones contained in the history, we obviously heard a hoarse voice putting forward: "save on helping!". My buddy is quite engaged in animal safe practices and organises demonstrations on social gathering. So she often times receives right into somewhat difficulty with the authorities (no longer too undesirable - she's not in any respect been booked or tried), merely keeps on annoying the chemical factories and the police. yet sometime, she requested me even if she might want to quit because she had a severe stumble upon with one particular policeman who whacked her somewhat too puzzling. It became excellent then at the same time as her brother's voice got here on the tape. She's nevertheless fascinated in animal safe practices - and so am I considering the fact that then.

yes the phones lines sometimes get intercepted. my husband has been there two times and it happens on from time to time. you also have to be very careful what you say on those lines. no specific details should be given out, as whereabouts when coming home details on missions, etc. for safety and security reasons. just be happy they call and they are alive. it is normal though. keep your head up and continue to show support and before you know the deployment will come to an end. god bless the troops!!
