My mother's sister and father's sister both have it. Though it is not as noticeable as mine....

Vitiligo appears to be an acquired condition and may appear at any age. There is an increased incidence in some families. Vitiligo is more noticeable in darker skinned people because of the contrast. The cause of vitiligo is unknown, but autoimmunity may be a factor.

There maybe a genetic link, at this point I don't think that they are sure. Could also be environmental. So if genertic or environmental is hard to tell.

I think it is an autoimmune disease. So I would think that stress can affect it too.

Auto-immune diseases often run in families. But if they are under the control of several genes, you won't necessarily get an identical effect in all the affected family members.

hi everyone says it is yes, but no one in my family has it and i do, and ive went back through generations to find out about this.

mine is hardly noticable though you have to lok hard just a few patches on legs and feet...

hopefully my son doesnt get it i hate it
