most beautiful place to LIVE? i say queens, it's like the best, clean, and peaceful neighborhood ever! beacuse i live in queens. other than that, if you want to meet a lot of people, best to live in manhattan although it's a bit crowded and busy. you should go to the statue of liberty, most definitely times square and the metropolitan museum (strongly recommended since i'm a teenage artist, "in a way".)

Battery Park City in lower Manhattan. All new developments (co-ops, condos, and a couple of completely "green" environmentally friendly rentals). You have tennis courts, the yacht club with J-24s in North Cove, tree-lined promenade on the Hudson River where you can see NJ shoreline (and the Statue of Liberty), the glass atrium of the Winter Garden with its stand of 9 amazing palm trees. Great restaurants, gourmet food, shopping, movie theatre. Miniature golf course, outdoor trampoline school, you can rollerblade on a continuous pathway from BPC along the Hudson to 23rd Street, in 20 minutes.

From here, you're a hop away from Wall Street, South Street Seaport, Chinatown and Little Italy.

The West Village is a trendy area to live in. Upper East Side where all the museums are can be very pricey. Any where along Central Park is a beautiful site, but again, those apartments are very expensive. If money is no concern to you, then try to find an apartment along Central Park on the west or east side.
