You take them and cut the ends off ,peel them like taters,boil like taters til tender,then eat with any seasoning of your choice.You can even mash them like taters.I like them not mashed with butter,garlic and pepper on them,Very tasty and good side dish!

I cut then into 1/2 inch cubes and boil them for 15 minutes in a little salted water.

I eat them like that sometimes and sometimes I add a little milk & butter & mash them like potatoes.

I peel, cube, boil till tender in water to cover then drain and add salt and pepper to taste.

Turnips (DON'T MEAN TO BE CRITICAL) are a sweet potatoe like veggie---put them in stews, soups or like I like them, mashed liked potatoes and some light gravy such as chicken or turkey
