Well, the last time it happened to me I felt a tingling sensation in my feet that eventually worked it's way all over my body then the next thing I knew I was flying all around the room like a balloon that just had all it's air let out. I got scared and managed to grab onto a curtain rod where I hung for a second until I could get myself together. Then I did a double flip and nailed my dismount as I flew back into my physical body.

When meditating or doing yoga, your body can feel like it has seperated from itself. It is a moment of enlightenment and can be quite scary. But more than anything,it can be very numbing. Now if your talking about losing your bladder and other things, then thats just nasty. But yes that could hurt

You still feel like you are in the physical body, so unless you're in a weird circumstance, or highly practiced, you'll never know that you've left it.
I was (un)fortunate enough to see my physical body when in my astral body, and it was the single most frightening moment in my life. I was pulled back into the physical immediately, but thinking about it makes me shiver to this day.
You asked, i told.
Don't believe me. . .it might be better that way.

Only happened to me a couple of times after falling asleep after serious meditation.
found myself flying above the lamposts and phone lines and thinking I need to get down to the ground. Wham I shot down to the ground so fast that it scared the bejesus out of me. I thought I dont want to hit the ground, I need to be higher and wham, I was flying far above the lamposts again.
scary stuff like been on a rollercoaster ride only far, far more extreme.
I was not in control at all, but I am told you get used to it.

you can't explain an out of body experience ( I assume your talking about using something like shrooms or LSD) It's like your in another world with the feeling and hallucinations. That's the only way I can describe.

It should be fairly easy to find a person, or group who practice self-hypnosis, and can teach you.
From personal experience, it seems to be a great way to eplore and out-of-body experience.
