Yes. before I was on anti-depressants, I would sleep 12 to 15 hours per day. That's not to say that everyone who sleeps a lot is depressed; too much sleep can be a symptom of depression, or it can be the result of depression. But there's definitely a correlation between the two.

If you can, see a therapist. I was reluctant to see one at first, but therapy works miracles. in the meantime, sleep for 7 to 9 hours a day, and get up and do something. Work in your garden, write poetry, play a sport, go out with friends.... Don't stay in your room alone all day, it only makes things worse. and it made me sleepy.

Tricky question.

Not enough sleep can lead to depression, or can be a symptom of depression.


Needing to sleep a lot is symptomatic of some depression, but not all.
but whether too much sleep can make depression worse? maybe.

In fact,sleeping more is a caution your body takes when you are in dperssion however too much sleep can really make you more depressed.You need to regulate it by the help of a professional.

Yes. Get out and do things. Take up an art. See a movie. Go to a concert. Find things you enjoy. Talk to friends.Anything helps.

no it shouldnt it should help you.. for sleep is good. if you can go to sleep when you are depressed; sounds like you have a handle on it. in other words you have a good chance for recovery..

yes- you should go out and do stuff.. even if you dont' feel likek dooing the things u used to enjoy.. you should always try something new, and explore things
