No, the Catholic Church does not believe all non-Catholics go to hell.

The Catholic Church believes that Baptism is necessary for salvation for those who have heard the Gospel and have had the opportunity of asking for Baptism.

Therefore
- Those who die for the sake of the faith with being Baptized are baptized by thier death for Christ. This is called Baptism of blood.
- Those who die while preparing for Baptism are assured salvation. This is Baprism of desire.
- Those who die never hearing of Christ but have sought the truth and does the will of God as they understand it can be saved. This is also Baptism of desire.
- Children who have died without Baptism are entrusted to the mercy of God.

With love in Christ.

Any religion that follows the teachings of Jesus Christ is a christian religion. Catholics are christians. Jesus tells us that there is a heaven and a hell, your own actions determine where your soul will live after your body dies. Some, not all, christian churches do teach their followers that anyone who is not a member of that church will go to hell. The Catholic church teaches that anyone who lives their life as Christ lived his will go to heaven.
As for having just one religion, Catholicism was the first christian religion, it was started by the apostle Peter based on the teachings of Jesus. Other christian religions came about because of individual opinions and interpretations that did not agree with the Catholic church in Rome.

Seriously, I appreciate your question... but you really need to get something straight. Catholocism is just a denomination of Christianity. (translation: Catholics are part of a type of Christianity.)

Okay, I'm Catholic, and I'll say this: a lot of so-called "catholics" are fakes; they're not really Christians. Some people who think they are Catholic believe some wacky stuff. But then again, a lot of "Christians" aren't really followers of Jesus.

Note: Anyone who is a true Christian, a follower of Christ, will go to heaven. Isn't that AWESOME?

How many times does this question have to be asked & answered?

Do you not read the other questions?

Your question is flawed from the very begining! Catholics are Christians but not all Christians are Catholics. People who don't understand that fact are brainwashed by their own church or beliefs whatever that may be.

Why must MOST Christians (& Muslims & Jews) believe they are the only ones going to heaven? And even then it is only the Christians (or Muslims or Jews) that belong to their particular sect or branch that gain entry. HYPOCRITES!

Please make sure all of your future questions are intelligent & logical & non-biased.

Here we go again-
All Catholics are Christians but not all Christians are Catholics.
In response to Carol M. That's a really ignorant statement. Catholics believe that Jesus Christ is our savior. We don't use the term "born again", we use baptism. So, when a Catholic is asked "Were you born again?" The response should be "Yes, at my baptism."
I also need to say that its very wrong to say that nonChristians are going to hell. Of course, I would love it if everyone had faith in Christ, but anyone who lives a life of love and service in all its forms will be welcomed into heaven. God is for EVERYONE.

There is just one religion ( Christianity) but various methods or styles of worship. Thus denominations. such as catholic, lutheran, baptist have a base faith on Christ and the bible as the word of God They merley have some differences in opinon on how that worship should be done, and in some minor areas of teachings

But there is only one God, one heaven and one hell. But of course since a real Christian is saved, they would not go to hell anyway, only non Christians

First, I think you need to understand something...

Catholics ARE Christians. We do have one religion - Christianity, but many different denominations - Roman Catholic, Orthodox, Baptists, Lutherens, etc...

A Catholic is bound by the same commandments as are other Christians. We cannot judge one another and tell each other they're going to 'hell'. We are asked by Jesus to love one another as he has loved us -which means, looking past sin and actions to see the person and the light of God within them.

I wouldn't tell a Baptist that they're going to hell because they're not Catholic, and a Baptist wouldn't tell me I'm going to hell because I'm Catholic.

I hope this clarifies things for you....

Catholics ARE Christians. But nobody is going to hell or heaven because those places don't exist.

If you receive Christ as your savior and accept the work on the cross for the forgiveness of your sins, you are Heaven bound. Religion has nothing to do with it, neither do denominational ties.

Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Act 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
