Try the One Change idea- change one thing a week.

Try something like this:

1st- add a healthy breakfast. Instant oatmeal is simple, cheap, and generally good for you. Good breakfasts are often cited as the #1 change that helps people be successful in long-term eating changes.

2nd- find some good snacks. I LOVE frozen grapes, but any fruit or veggie nuggets are good. You can also look for lo-cal frozen treats, etc. I suggest avoiding 'dietary' foods- expensive and unsatisfying.

3rd- drop a junk food, period. Fries, candy, regular chips, ice cream, soda, whatever your biggest food sin is, just stop it. Don't choose something you CANNOT live without... at this point. OR- drop a snack time. My no-no is mid-night snacks. A pint of ice cream was a common munchie. Changed it to a handful of flavored popcorn or a fruit smoothie.

Every week change something else- drop a food or snack time, add a new snack, add a workout, etc. If you need, repeat a week- no penalty, no big deal.

Find a substitutuion for your junk food. Tasty healthy stuff is all around us you just need to look more carefully. Try some new things you may end up liking them. I used to be addicted to soda and my substitute is cranberry juice and seltzer.

Only buy one "bad" thing when you go shopping.

Make a list and stick to the list. It's easier than you think!

When you have eaten healthy for an entire day, snack on that one "bad" thing that you want.
