If money is no issue, I would make a couple of visits. If things become serious, I would ask her to make the trip a couple of times at your expense. The only way to truly know a person is to spend time with them around the people who live with them. People behave very differently one-on-one than they do around the people who know them well. They can hide a lot of information that "comes out" around friends and relatives.

Funny thing is I met someone just not long ago and we live thousands of miles apart! I would do it because it's a win-win situation. If she isn't interested it's her loss and you'll still get to travel and see the world and maybe bump into someone better!
