Bearshare is like that. You have to open the file from the folder on your computer. Do not use Bearshare to open it. I also agree with the above, Bearshare screws up your computer.

Additional details: Now that I have read your additional detail I determine that it is your computer's problem. Maybe it got some kind of virus or something. Limewire works fine on all three of my computers (laptops and desktops).

You've specified a specific folder for the download. If you go into tools and options you should be able to find the specific folder. Once you've found it, you can right click it and send the folder to the desktop so it can be found easilt.

I don't know what problem you're experiencing with the file you've download however most of these programs are compressed though Winzip, Winrar, iso etc etc. You'll have to download a program to decompress the files to another specific loaction. After this, you can go to ths folder and double click the .exe file to get the program going.

id reccomned a file sharing program called frostwire... from the makers of limewire, but much much faster!

also in your bearshare options menu. there should be a tab about where to save/share files.... find out what folder it is and follow the path to it... ex: if the folder pathname is C:/Windows/shared/shared music then open my computer, open hard drive C, then open shared, and then shared music. all of your saved files should be there :D
