Don't spoil them - most parents make the mistake by trying to provide their children with everything that they did not have in life - this is usually where they go wrong.
Parents usually lack in the discipline are, which is why so many children have no manners and idolize irresponsible people - they grow up with their morals and standards in the wrong place.x

The most important thing is to give them love and teach them love. knowledge and respect. I think that is the best thing you can give your kids.

teach them that in life there is only one thing we as humans do each and every day. In fact it is the only thing we do and that is.....make choices. If they can be taught to fully understand this then they will have the best life they can expect to have.

Love them, which sometimes can be fun and affectionate, and sometimes can be "tough love". Stand there with them so they'll know they can count on you, and back off occasionally when they get older and need to build their own world, and need to learn on their own. God Bless you in your parenting. It's one of the greatest and most challenging times in your whole life.

Spend time with them. That is the most the want from you. Not money or things. Your time.

Love them and treat them with respect so they learn from that. Play with them teach them new and exciting things. Let them know you are there for them when they need you. Remember they watch what you do and they copy you so do your best and show them what's right and wrong. Best of luck.

Let them make their own decisions and mistakes in life, but be right behind them the whole time. Support them no matter what.

two things no one ever mentions: Finances and Nutrition...
teach your child at an early age the value of money...that money doesn't grow on trees..everything has a price, which will teach him/her responsibility...(U will see the results later in there lives)
Nutrition: I'm so thankful to my parents having thought me about food...what to eat, how to eat...all about good nutrition, vitamins, and an all around healthy lifestyle...
