Of course she does. However, Lebanon doesn't have the military capability to effectively do this, so the real question is, who is going to help her, and what will they want in return. Secondly (and this is general advice for all parties in the conflict) defending oneself doesn't mean trashing an enemy's entire country "just in case" - unless you're really sure those rocket launchers are electric, bombing a power station is not self-defence. And if you're not capable of actually hitting military targets, don't fire rockets at civilians just to show you can.

Sure, Lebanon has the right to defend itself. Since Hezbollah has representation in the government of Lebanon then any act of Hezbollah should be viewed as an act of that government. Lebanon may claim that Hezbollah is acting on its own, but the Lebanese government is responsible for the action of its citizens and thus is responsible for the Hezbollah attacks on Israel, even if the only participation of the government is that of neglect.
Because Hezbollah is acting in and with the support of Syria, then it Israel has the right to attack Syria as well, even if Syria's regular military has not attacked them. I don't think Israel will attack Syria first, though. They will attack Hezbollah up to the Syrian border and will annhilate Hezbollah's military capability in Lebanon. Syria will either leave well enough alone and the war will end there, or they will start sending regular military units into Lebanon or attack Israel directly, expanding the war to Syrian territory.
In my opinion, the fighting will expand to Syria, Iran and beyond. This is the beginning of WWIII.

Lebanon is defending itself by allowing Israel to eradicate the Hezbollah from its soil and eliminate the control Syria has and continues to have over its citizens.
The Hezbollah are terrorists and are doing nothing good for Lebanon. Lebanese know that. So Israel is helping Lebanon.

Of course Lebanon has the right to defend herself! And she had better do a superb job, because she is going to get her *** kicked off. That is the best she can hope for. You don't mess around with the Jews.

Why don't people get it. This is serious **** going on. Israel has no beef with lebanon except that they allow hezbollah sanctuary....and let them into their government. If lebanon or any other country wants peace with Israel all they have to do is quit arming and giving sanctuary to terrorists. But no..they gotta play stupid and then when Israel acts to defend itself everyone screams bloody murder. And now syria and iran are going to cause us all to get into one nasty mess. They may as well all just accept the fact that Israel isn't going anywhere and make up their minds to leave them alone....police their own people so Israel doesn't have to.

Of course.
Lebanon is not the target though, the Hezbollah terrorist organization is. The Lebanon Army isn't strong enough to take on Hezbollah, let alone the Israeli Army.

They'll say they do even though they did start the conflict so as far as i'm concerned they're the attackers in this and Israel is defending herself. All Arab countries will say Lebanon is defending itself because they don't like Israel.

It sure does.
The only problem is that Lebanon has no real weapons to defend itself. And the world is just sitting there while that country is taken to pieces by overarmed Israel.

Lebanon does not have contol over their southern areas, its in the hand of Hezbollah (sp). They are considering sending in their army to institute security, but fear that will spark a civil war, which it probably will. The conflict is more complicated than Israeli jets firing on urban neighborhoods....however you look at it, the world is holding its collective breath..
