If every US citizen was a potential Border Patrol agent, would that 'sour the milk' on illegal immigration? I know it's kind of a Matrix-y idea, but would it work?

Citizens arrest ?

I think as Americans , we should not need the goverments aproval to rise up aginst any one coming to this country illegally... We should be expected to do it .

However , I belive that we should be able to.

goodnewsbears: ummmmmm, yeah thats the answer, we will do nothing and say it is gods will... wow where were you when 911 went down, you could of all made up a picnic lunch and watch the towers come falling down... good thinking !!!! ( i'm being sarcastic).

Right After 9/11
The Administration Called For ALL CITIZENS
To Be "VIGILANT"

Why Should This Issue Be Different??
Why Should We Be Vigilant About Certain Unlawfulness
And Not All Unlawfulness??

Why Should Citizens Be On The Lookout For Some Criminals
And Not Others??

It Is This Type Of Inconsistency In The Administration
That Creates COMPLACENCY Among The Populace

For Instance

By Jerry Seper
THE WASHINGTON TIMES (Wednesday May 3, 2006)
U.S. Border Patrol agents have been ordered not to arrest illegal aliens along the section of the Arizona border where protesters patrolled last month because an increase in apprehensions there would prove the effectiveness of Minuteman volunteers, The Washington Times has learned.
(Sorry, I Cannot Locate The Link To This Article)

WTF Is THAT About??
Inconsistency, Thats What

Our Current Administration
Is BLATANTLY Ignoring The Wishes
Of WE THE PEOPLE

I Believe This Will Get MUCH Worse
Before It Gets Better

Answer To Your Question
I Think It Will Be Up To The Citizens
To Take The Necessary Steps
To STOP The Tidal Wave
And Remove The Infiltrators

Or It Wont Get Done

In what capacity would these citizens be empowered? With Guns? With cell phones? Binoculars and a radio? There are human lives at stake her folks, and just because they are illegal they are still humans and deserve to be treated as such. I'm thinking this idea is bad on oh so many levels unless there is just an 800 number to call and that is the end of their involvement.

What about a US citizen who is married to an illegal immigrant and has children with this person. And, are stuck in this situation. It is not as simple as it sounds and I don't believe that you would have every citizen on your side. In your "Matrix-y" type world, it would probably work. But, it is just that fiction.

Someone not too long ago posted information in the constitution that says if our government won't protect us it is our right and duty to do it ourselves.

Bush never signed any order to put troops on the border. He asked for volunteer states in an effort to make us believe that the border cannot be protected. We see right through him.

So yes, we may be headed in that direction.

Is it any surprise that a couple weeks ago, according to the NRA, nra.com, that Mexico once again was defeated in the UN to declare that American citizens must disarm themselves?

No, because there's more to illegal immigration than border control. Not all illegal immigrants crossed the U.S. border. It would only solve a little part of the problem.

I don't think a citizen could do anything, except call border patrol and they wouldn't do anything either, or they would be arresting them in the fields, canyon encampments, on street corners they see then all the time and do nothing. Especially in San Diego.

As much as I would love to say yes, the truth is, people would start shooting, etc. and we'd end up in a full on civil war. Now this isn't like a video game where the lives lost are imaginary. Real people you know could die. Not worth it.

Too many innocent people would die...People will start carrying guns like if they were cell phones or something. Whenever u give people the right to act violent against other only misery and all out violence and blood are the result.
