Watermelon can not make you fat, if anything its high water content will do nothing but help you lose weight. Initially, eating a lot of watermelon at one sitting will make you feel heavier and seem bloated in the abdomen area because it is mostly liquid, but like with any liquid you will eventually urinate it out. And watermelon has absolutely no fat, it is a great fruit.

It is highly unlikely that you'd be able to consume enough watermelon to become obese. Watermelon has about 50 calories per cup so you'd need to eat about 70 cups a day (over and above what your body would normally utilize in calories) just to gain a pound.

If you're diabetic it is possible that eating watermelon on a regular basis could add a few pounds but it'd be because of the glucose/insulin reaction.

anything that you eat in excess will make you fat even if other wise it's good for you like watermelon. Having it for a snack is fine but to sit there and eat it all day long without working any of it off will indeed make you fat over time.

Watermelon has a high fructose concentration. So, depending on your insulin output, and how your metabolism converts your glycogen to fat, if you eat quite a bit of watermelon, yes, you could gain fat, based on the caloric intake.

But what the heck, run around and exercise it off! It's summer, Silly!

The only thing that can make you fat is taking in more calories than you burn. One cup of diced watermelon chunks has about 50 calories.

Only if you feel fat when you are retaining water!! Watermelon is a food that most anyone can feel comfortable pigging out on. Fruits are the yummiest guilt-free food, if you ask me!

No,because just last week i ate 1/2 of a watermelon in a half hour.I'm still skinny.

Anything can make you fat if you abuse it. If you eat a lot of it, like the whole thing on a daily basis, you can expect to gain some weight. If it's a one time thing for a contest, don't count on it.

Watermelon is pretty low calorie, so basically, no. Not unless you ate an absolutely rediculous amount.

dude ive been a vegetarian for 13 years and hell no a watermelon cnt make you fat because i love them and im not oversized just regular size but i think im fat.....other ppl say im not like hell no.
