and if you take his advice----and trade-in you can only get a manual trans in an Escape with a 4 cyl not available with
the V6

i enjoy driving man. trans. too & love the V6 Escape but it just isn't available from the factory that way

You are asking if you can switch from automatic to manual shift transmission.
Forget it. You will save money by selling your Escape and buying one already equipped. Computersystems, wiring, sensors, clutch, bell housing, hydraulic system, drive shaft, power take-off systems, etc, etc, would ALL have to be changed or modified.
