It takes a lot of friends and a lot of shopping. You must start with a frugal budget.

A small wedding party.
Use small boquets.
Ask a friend to play music.
Borrow as much as possible.
Decorate with ribbons and bows, not flowers.
Have reception at church hall, or even better, someone's home, NO FOOD, just cake and punch.

It can be done, but you must think with your head, not your heart.

Borrow a gown and have him wear a shirt and tie, get everyone you know to go to either a relative's house or a pretty park and make it a pot-luck (covered dish) wedding. Have guests bring alcohol too.

The church will probably cost a little money and the rings , I don't know if they're included in the cost but Walmart has 14k gold wedding bands that are the same as the Jewlery store ones so you could get two bands there. You could always trade up later.

At the reception, have someone you know do some DJing or just play some cds on a cd changer and hire a 100-200 dollar entertainer from an entertainment company to pop in.

You can get your veil at JoAnn Fabrics and hot glue flowers to it and if you're crafty, you can make it awesome looking. I did my own bouquet too and you can make a bouquet with some (all kinds) silk flowers and some pearl accents with satin ribbon. All the bridesmaid flowers can be done like this too and they can buy their own dresses (obviously).

For decorating the church, park or house, have your relatives put silk flowers and candles all over the place to make it beautiful and get a roll of white paper to roll down at the church. You won't be able to afford a florist but you could have one do a few little touches for you, to add to the charm and that won't cost much.

I'd think you could do any wedding on any budget, you'll just have to realize that you can't have 200 people, feeding them a 6 course meal in a luxurious banquet hall. I think it's very possible to do a wedding for $1000--
-enlist the aid of friends who can take photographs for your gift, make the cake for your gift, etc.
-Michael's has some great ideas for centerpieces/floral arrangements.
-Costco and Sams Clubs also have fresh flowers, you can get like 2 dozen roses for $15, bunch those together for bouquets, tie with pretty ribbon.
-look into consignment shops or rental shops for your dress, or wear something that you can wear again.
-Remember that the wedding is just 1 day, but your marriage is for a lifetime. Congratulations and good luck!

A friend of mine got married for around that amount (her 2nd his 1st ) by all of us attending, doing what we do best as gifts. Her sister did all the bridesmaids hair and make-up (beautician) I did the photographs (photo student at college) another sewed all the bridesmaid and flowergirl dresses (seamstress) one did the DJing (part time business for him) my Mom made their bouquets (11) from artificial flowers on sale, the bride got her dress 2nd hand (e-bay or somewhere like that) and the one that didn't know what else rented crystal and silver so she didn't have to use paper plates and glasses. Since they had lived together for a while, they really didn't need more towels and such so this was a great way for them to have a lovely wedding and still keep it under budget.

Absolutely. Make your own wedding cake, pick flowers from your own garden (or a friends or acquaintances' garden...with permission of course!), see if a friend or someone else you know is crafty and get them to make your wedding clothes and other accessories, buy from a thrift store, or make your own wedding invitations...the list is endless. The only things you should have to really pay for are your venues for the wedding and reception, the celebrant or minister and your honeymoon (and if you are clever, you can save money there too).
Good luck!

Without the cost of our rings it cost us $3000 doing it at home. It was on the cheap and everyone had a great time. Get everyone to bring a plate of food. BYO Alchole. Nice cheap wedding dress. Fake flowers, Do your own decorations. ( Table layouts ) And get all your friends to help. Ask for money not presents. You might have to go to a Registry office cause that's cheaper than a celebrant coming to you.

Yes. Bargin shop. Check out the thrift stores or swap meets for flowers, cake decoration, center pieces etc. Use your family & friends' talents to help pull it together.
OR go to the Justice of Peace & have a decent reception with the $1,000.
Good luck & best wishes.
