It is an offense against a policemen you shout at him because he is a person in authority and it is not usually an offense if the policeman is the one you shouted at a civilian because it is presumed that he is performing in an official function. Anyway, police violations can be reported to the Internal Affairs for a full blown investigation.

because hes a policeman and they know best. or so they say. i quite sure you can say 'i THINK your a prick' and not 'you ARE a prick' because everyone can still make there own mind up.

i could be wrong, most of the police ive had run ins with,(for minnor things, like no seat belt) have been jumped up little tossers, so young, i wouldnt leave them alone in the bath by themselfs, dont get me wrong there still are a few good ones out there who use common sence.

Actually, a police officer is not supposed to be 'offended' by a expletive uttered at him, but anyone within earshot may be. If even one other person is offended, guess what? You're going to jail.

If an officer utters expletives at you, you can report the officer to the internal affairs division of his agency.

Actually, depending where you live, cursing in public is an offense no matter who you are. So, if the incident comes to court, you could probably bring that up.

It is an offense if he swears at you but because he's a cop, it doesn't matter because real life society people are discriminated against. If he swears at you, it's considered assault, just like if you swear at him.

chances are if it went to court he/she would be believed. its the uniform, gives them special powers to abuse the public position.and we all know the judges live in cuckoo land out of touch with reality.

Because they have the power and they know it.

Then they go back to their buds at the station and laugh at all the citizens they've harassed.

It will depend on your state and city, but it is one of those things, they have power to arrest and hand cuff you, so why curse at them, often just answering them and talking to them will get you alot further.
